I loved these movies as a kid....can't wait to go see the remake.

Let's just hope they don't turn it into another global warming flick.

After the disappointing Day The Earth Stood Still and the improbable world of Wall-E, I don't want another version of how we all desrve to die and only aliens or robots can inherit the Earth.

Sorry, I just love these original movies and hate when they twist them into something they never were.

I've got my fingers crossed for this one...

Original movies? Doesn't original mean "never before made"? If you dont like these movies cause the depict something that has even a single truth to it, don't watch them! Wall-E was a great show, and staying true to all Pixar's movies, it had a point and something we can all take from it. I haven't seen Day the Earth Stood Still yet, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I can't call this an orignial quote of mine, cause its been made before, but "movies are for you to enjoy, so grab your soda, your popcorn, sit back in your seat, turn off your mind, and enjoy".

Borg03of77's response was illogical and did not answer to the concern posted by Al. I disagree with Al's message concerning Wall-E, but I completely agree with the horrid renovation of The Day The Earth Stood Still, and I am not looking forward to Race to Witch Mountain either. Al and I are concerned with the original messages in the first movies--"simple truths" which are still true today. Changing a plot to make it more relevant to "today's" culture is what tanked Kidman & Craig's Invasion a couple of years ago. I would like to see, as I'm sure Al would too, more original films and fewer remakes. Hollywood has been in a bit of a rut for a few years now, and it will take fresh concepts like Wall-E--whose message was indeed timely--to pick it back up.

Looks more like "We're going to destroy your planet cause you have our kids/scouts/whatever" than any sort of moralistic modern dilema. That said, there is always a way to sneak those things in.

The trailer looks interesting, though it looks like Tony and Tia's powers have, uh, increased. I'd watch it.

Wall-E was enjoyable as a family show about a robot that finds love, but to toss in the notion that the whole world will become a garbage dump while we all float around on video loungers just seemed more foolish than realistic. If the technology is available to house the entire human race in lifeless space, I'm sure it could terra-form the earth back to normal. (maybe even the moon?) The movie could have worked better if it had played with the killer asteroid idea rather than the green fad. That could easily explain why an advanced civilization would abandon their planet en mass.

And yes, I would love to see more original movies (Serenity comes to mind) with less catering to various groups and more determined to tell memorable stories.
