SCI FI Wire has posted an exclusive sneak peek at Warehouse 13, SCI FI's upcoming original drama series.
SCI FI has ordered 11 hours of the new show, which stars Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly and Saul Rubinek.
After saving the life of the president, two Secret Service agents find themselves abruptly transferred to Warehouse 13—a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota, which houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by the U.S. government.
The warehouse's caretaker, Artie (Rubinek), charges Pete (McClintock) and Myka (Kelly) with chasing down reports of supernatural and paranormal activity in search of new objects to cache at the warehouse, as well as with helping him to control the warehouse itself.
Production is slated to begin this February in Toronto for a July 2009 premiere.

Sci-Fi keeps churning out some great shows. I'm all over this one. should be pretty awesome.
By GlowGoBoy at 9:15 AM ON 01/13/09
Looks promising! But it will all come down to the writing staff!
By HJ at 10:03 AM ON 01/13/09
Hmmm, can you say "The Librarian?" I knew you could.
By Rafe at 10:26 AM ON 01/13/09
In this clip, CCH Pounder is his boss. What happens to her?
It's filmed in Toronto. So, will we see the same actors who usually populate Canadian-filmed genre? You know, the guys from the X-Files, Outer Limits, and Stargate SG1 and Atlantis?
By Igor at 10:38 AM ON 01/13/09
It looks bad like Flash Gordon bad but with even worse acting.
By Megalomegalodon at 11:13 AM ON 01/13/09
I give it 3 episodes before I decide whether to allow it to occupy any more space on my DVR.
By PJ at 11:36 AM ON 01/13/09
Wow, that clip of Warehouse 13 stinks - lame dialog i could have written better in 3 seconds and lousy acting (which I could probably have done better as well!)
This is mostly like to be a baaaaad show.
But apparently their audience likes that.
By Sean at 11:49 AM ON 01/13/09
Like SciFi's crappy onslaught of d-level "exclusive" movies, this looks to continue the trend. Could they have even considered getting some decent talent?
If SciFi stopped making sub-par movies and focused on keeping flagship shows with high ratings (Stargate Atlantis anyone?) we wouldn't have a problem. Oh and please for the love of GOD drop ECW, what the HELL does wrestling have to do with Science Fiction?
By Mandy at 2:41 PM ON 01/13/09
It looks like a mix of Friday the 13th the series and The Dresden Files. It has two or three Dresden Files cast members and one of the writers adn the plot is a lot like Friday the 13th the series from the early nineties. I'll probably give it a shot but as with The Dresden Files, watch them pull it before giving it a season 2 and Scifi yet again taunts me with the thought of what could have been for the show. I'll keep an open mind but I am still bitter about The Dresden Files.
By Mandy at 2:47 PM ON 01/13/09
After seeing the clip all I can say is ehh... I'd rather have seen The Dresden Files continue.
They clearly still have access to the cast and crew of The Dresden Files and from what I've read they still have the rights to it for two or so years so umm... what was the point of abandoning that show for making the people involved do this rip off of a show done back in the nineties?
By HotLeachman at 3:28 PM ON 01/13/09
i will watch dis show every week bcause scyfi is awesome.
By Sarah at 3:35 PM ON 01/13/09
It looks all right, but I have to agree, I would have much rather seen Dresden Files come back.
By knickman at 4:46 PM ON 01/13/09
The acting is good. the problem for us is that it completely out of context. It's a rather ordinary scene that seems, from the description, to be the least Sci-Fi in the show.
By Mandy at 6:11 PM ON 01/13/09
I get the hint he's being hired by this mysterious government woman to set off on his surreal adventure of working in this facility that houses fantastical artifacts... Again, I'd rather seen The Dresden Files continue...
Why are they doing this? Some misguided and half-hearted attempt to appease the Dresden Files fans because no one at the Scifi Channel has enough integrity to simply admit that not continuing that show was a mistake? It would have been more practical to just make the effort to bring back the show that should have been renewed back in 2007. But no. The Scifi Channel can never admit to being wrong so we get these half-hearted attempts to placate the viewers.
This is depressing.

There was absolutely NOTHING in that lame clip that sparked any interest for me at all. Geez... could you have possibly spared even the briefest of tantalizing glimpses of this supposed Warehouse 13? Maybe that might have given me a better clue as to whether I would want to invest my time in watching it... Right now, the dialog reads like the same old garbage I've seen and TURNED OFF in those awful made-for-SciFi movies they keep trying to cram down our throats.
Even if it turns out to be a good show, I have to question, do I really want to fall in love with yet another SciFi show of only 11 episodes just so SciFi can decide, "Nahhhhh... we don't want to renew this..." After the shaft they gave to The Dresden Files, I'm a bit reluctant to get my hopes up,\.
As other commentors have mentioned, this sounds like a re-hash/combo of The Librarian and Friday the 13th. At least The Dresden Files was original! SciFi, WAKE UP! Give us back The Dresden Files... not some poor lame substitute!

Shiraziel, you just said everything that I have been thinking for months. Thank you!
By HarveyMidnight at 12:24 AM ON 01/14/09
The dialogue in this scene is pretty hokey. Honestly, this show sounds like "MIB" meets "Friday the 13th, the series"-- even this clip sounds like it's trying to match MIB's standoffish humor a la a dry-witted James Earl Jones trying to recruit a comically sarcastic Will Smith.
If Sci-fi really wanted to make a 'modern urban magic' kind of drama--- I'd have to echo the above comments & say they should've put THIS show's budget into 11 more hours of Dresden Files instead.
By HarveyMidnight at 12:41 AM ON 01/14/09
Sorry.... the above comment, I should have said 'Tommy Lee Jones' not 'James Earl...' -- also, should have said the clip is trying-- but failing-- to match MIB's standoffish humor.
By Shiraziel at 12:50 AM ON 01/14/09
Seems to me SciFi is finally realizing it goofed BIG TIME in not renewing The Dresden Files, but are still too obstinate to fess up and admit it and give us back the show.Instead, they are trying to mollify us with a cheesy knock-off that borrows as many Dresden-like elements (INCLUDING two of the Dresden Files actors!) that it possibly can without blatently venturing into plagerizing/copyright infringing upon Jim Butcher's concept. They are giving us 'Dresden-Lite' instead of the real thing, hoping that they can somehow recapture the Magic.
Sorry Skiffy, but all you'redoing is trying to pull the proverbial rabbit out of a hat. I'm not buying it. I want REAL Magic... not some smoke and mirrors cheap illusion. Wake up and smell the herbal tea fellas.... BRING BACK THE DRESDEN FILES!
By Mandy at 1:59 AM ON 01/14/09
No wonder Scifi is pretending The Dresden Files never happened. They want to placate us with this pale immitation. And after having seen the script (which is now circulating) it's much worse than I thought in regard to it being 'not quite The Dresden Files but kinda.'
I miss Bob, The ghost attached to his own skull, played by Terrence Mann for The Dresden Files. I don't need a new wallet...
This is like someone put Friday the 13th the series in a Blender with a certain plot device of The Dresden Files.
I don't know what to say. I'm too disgusted for words.
Okay, I count at least four of us here all saying the same thing. We don't want Warehouse 13! We want The Dresden Files!
By Anachronite at 1:21 PM ON 01/14/09
This show will be cancelled like the dresdan files, because they both suck. Bring us some real Sci-Fi to replace Galactica. Please.
By Mandy at 3:52 PM ON 01/14/09
Okay, here's where you really wake up the Dresden Files fan in me.
Fact: The Dresden Files was the second highest rated show on the Scifi Channel during it's original run, second to Battlestar Galactica. This is confirmed on the Scifi Channel's own website, and Neilsen, contradicting the editorial review for the show on amazon.com.
Fact: The Dresden Files was the third highest rated show of the Scifi Channel over-all for 2007, and second highest rated during it's original run, second only to Battlestar Galactica.

Fact: On an amazon poll for best show on the Scifi Channel The Dresden Files is not only in first place but currently as 51% of the votes.
Fact: When someone from the Scifi Channel told Variety magazine that The Dresden Files was the Scifi Channel's worst commercial failure (ignoring the likes of Painkiller Jane and Flash Gordan) that article got more negative responses than any other article published by Variety that year.
Fact: The Scifi Channel has lost 18% of it's viewership since 2007, something they don't like it's viewers finding out about.
Fact: Dylan Everett was nominated for the 2008 Young Actors awards for best performance in a TV series for his role in the Dresden Files episode Birds of a Feather.
Fact: Valerie Cruz was nominated for the 2008 ALMA awards for the catagory of Outstanding actress in a drama television series for her role of Connie Murphy in The Dresden Files.
Fact: A petition to try to get The Dresden Files a 'new home' gained over 13,411 signatures as of August 2008.
Fact: As of the summer of 2008 The Dresden Files had been 18th over all on Hey! Nielsen.
Fact: The latest Dresden Files novel, Small Favor ended up on several best seller lists and the new Dresden Files comic books keep selling out on such retailers as as amazon.com.
Fact: The Dresden Files graphic novel, Welcome to The Jungle, which was inspired by a quote from The Dresden Files TV series in which Murphy mentions a mess at the zoo, has become one of the highest selling graphic novels of 2008 and has repeatedly sold out on amazon and other major book sellers. It is also getting extremely positive reviews.
Fact: During the Holiday season of 2008 The Dresden Files was in the top five highest selling Scifi DVDs on amazon and it did not leave the top five highest selling Scifi DVD lists until after New Years Day.
Fact: During the Holiday season of 2008 The Dresden Files was in the top ten most gifted DVD sets on amazon.
Fact: During the Holiday season of 2008 The Dresden Files was on the top ten most wished for DVD sets on amazon.

Fact: The version of the character Bob of The Dresden Files TV series has two very active fan clubs and is the basis for more than half the over-all Dresden Files fan fiction on fanfiction.net.
Fact: On IMVU (the most active 3D online community, currently narrowly beating Second Life) it's most active role playing community is one inspired by The Dresden Files television series.
Fact: An article in the New York Post called Moonlight the low quality version of The Dresden Files.

Fact: Despite the fact that The Dresden Files only had twelve episodes (and a two hour pilot episode that only aired once last year at three AM) it has gained Cult Classic status (even NBC admits to this).
Oh, yeah, but that was a show that 'sucked'. Riiiiight. You keep telling yourself that. Maybe one day Scifi will succeed in rewriting history to convince us all of that and never mind the facts. There was a time when the Scifi Channel USED to have a home for Science fiction, fantasy, and Gothic horror. In fact those were the three basic divisions of the channel. The Scifi Channel news show Scifi Buzz (which ran from the network's creation until Bonnie Hammer took over) even used those dividing lines for it's news. The Gothic Horror and fantasy have been stripped away to make room for professional wrestling and bad reality TV. When The Dresden Files first aired I thought The Scifi Channel was finally going back to what it used to be, before the reality TV and professional wrestling. But yet again they let me down.
And now someone realizes their mistake but does not have enough integrity to admit it so we're getting this pale immitation with a de-aged version of The Dresden Files' Bob attached to a wallet instead of a skull and now named Sam. What's wrong? Found an actor cheaper than the Tony Award winning Broadway icon you were using in The Dresden Files? Or was the skull too 'gross' so a battered wallet took it's place?. 'Easier to carry'? Give me a break. (The Dresden Files fans are NOT reacting well to this shameful rip off, by the way). To me it's like the child of Friday the 13th the series with a 'borrowed' plot point, two cast members and writer from The Dresden Files.
And shows like Destination Truth keep going and going and going when viewers out right plead for the Scifi Channel to make it stop. Destination Truth continuing only increasing my disgust.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, and it's written on a T-shirt I bought off ebay:
I'd rather be watching The Dresden Files!
By Sarah at 4:19 PM ON 01/14/09
You know, I have never particularly like Galactica, but you will not hear me say it sucked. It had a following. Dresden Files was not canceled because it sucked, there are a few shows that should have been canceled for that reason, but they weren't, Dresden Files wasn't one of them.
This show actually got me watching the Sci-fi Channel again, it got a few people watching it again. It got canceled because they were too busy putting new crap that an ape could write on there. Stuff that has no depth and characters with no redeeming qualities.
The fact is, Dresden Files was doing very well and that was not the reason it was canceled. It was canceled because some bonehead thought it was a good idea and instead of Sci-fi being mature about making a mistake and bringing it back they try to placate us with stuff like this. Sorry Sci-fi, NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
BRING BACK DRESDEN FILES!
By Mandy at 4:33 PM ON 01/14/09
It's nice to know I'm not alone in missing The Dresden Files.
By Shiraziel at 4:46 PM ON 01/14/09
I have a feeling there are going to be a lot more comments in this vein. News of this new Dresden/Friday 13th rip-off show is beginning to circulate on the many, very active Dresden websites and the response has been overwhelmingly one of outrage.
We have been clamouring, begging, screaming and doing our damndest to persuade SciFi they made a mistake in not renewing The Dresden Files. We have sent countless letters, emails and cards enumerating the many very good reasons they should do so (very succinctly posted above... Bravo!). Why then, if they have indeed realized that there is a continuing interest and profit in such a show, did they not simply bring it back rather than try to cobble together some half-baked copy? The Dresden Files was great... The formula was there, the sets and props were all designed, the casting was perfection, the scripts were hitting their stride and getting better with each episode.... so why start from scratch and give us but a pale imitation of the show we have been so ardently requesting? It's a waste of time and money and an insult to the fans. Get with the program SciFi! You had a show that was sheer Magic.... Don't try to misdirect us with this programming sleight of hand. We want the Magic back, not some cheesy illusion.
By carneasada at 1:09 AM ON 01/15/09
If that terribly-shot and acted clip is the best Sci-Fi can offer to tantalize us, this show will be canceled sooner Dresden Files ever was.
This looks like garbage.
By carneasada at 1:11 AM ON 01/15/09
Sorry, that should have said "sooner than." Also, bring back Dresden Files.
By ArchonComics at 1:59 AM ON 01/15/09
Bring back Dresden! And Farscape while you're at it. Heck, I think Sci-Fi should pick up make a deal with Josh Whedon and pick up Serenity. It's not too late! I actually like the Dresden tv show better than the books.
By Bob at 2:57 AM ON 01/15/09
Watched the clip, can't say it did anything for me. The three actors didn't exactly draw me in. Too dry and didn't exactly give any insight into the characters. The dialogue was pretty cliche. *laughs* this is a joke right? Dickenson, put you up, this is Dickenson being funny right?
zzz. I don't see any reference to the Dresden files but certainly put me down for another fan of that show. Need another suggestion? Try doing a show based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. That I'd like to see :)
By Mandy at 12:12 PM ON 01/15/09
Bob, we Dresden fans didn't see the Dresden Files reference here in this clip. We saw it in the script that's circulating for this show. It's definitely the real pilot script. The character names and dialogue all match up with what's here and on the Internet movie data base. I, myself, first thought 'Okay, so it's a revamped Friday the thirteenth the series with a few Dresden cast members and one of the writers.' This only bugged me on the level of 'They could do this but not bring back The Dresden Files?'
Then, Bob, I got to the character of Sam while reading the script. He's a subplot character being the deceased partner of one of the main characters. And without revealing too much think of your namesake character fro Dresden Files. Now put a wallet there instead of a skull. Also de-age him about twenty-years. There you go. See why we're freaked out now?
Someone leaked the script a few weeks ago and the Dresden fans have all gotten a bitter taste.
By RudeBwoy at 1:43 PM ON 01/16/09
I really wish they would bring Dresden files back. I read a couple of the books and was excited when the show aired. It did not disappoint. I regret I didn't see all the episodes but Hulu's website has all the full episodes so I was able to catch the ones I missed.
Its a real shame that the show is not coming back. SciFi needs to do the right thing and make this happen.
By Velgor at 3:47 PM ON 01/16/09
Usually a teaser trailer has something that entices the viewers and makes them eager to see the show. That clip had nothing in it at all that made me want to see more.
I liked the Dresden Files show, but was a bit confused by being dropped right in the middle of it with no explanations. I never saw the 2 hour pilot. I read the Dresden books because the show intrigued me, and have loved them all. I'm about to crack open the latest one.
SciFi - drop ECW. Wrestling has no place on the Sci-Fi channel. It has no relevance. Be more selective with your original movies. Most of them are really quite bad. You've lost your way and lack a clear vision of purpose. We don't need silly reality series such as "Estate of Panic" or "The Chase." They have nothing to do with SciFi either.
You should focus on shows, such as 'The Dresden Files' and other properties. I keep watching a few of the original movies here and there, in hopes of finding a gem, but am usually disappointed. Return to the core of your fan base. Give us witty, engaging, and enjoyable programming.
Viewers have a choice. There are so many channels out there that we can turn to. Look at what's popular, AND that fits within the scope of the network, and focus on that. We don't want wrestling and are sick to death of reality TV and bad movies.
Bring back "Dresden Files" or seek out properties from other writers such as Pratchett, etc. THAT is what we, the fans, want.
By Mandy at 8:34 PM ON 01/16/09
Velgor is right. The wrestling and reality TV have to stop!
Scifi has a habit of writing history the way THEY want to remember it. For example "Destination Truth, the 'Hit' show gets another season." is pretty much what Scifi is claiming. A hit compared to what? That's a pretty loose interpretation of the term. A poll on amazon.com's Scifi channel store for favorite Scifi Channel show has Destination truth with 0% of the votes. (Ironically DRESDEN FILES is number 1 on that poll) and yet Dresden Files, the third highest rated show on Scifi for 2007 was passed off as a "flop". Destination truth keeps getting continued. The Dresden Files fans not only get the shaft but this INSULT to our intellects called Warehouse 13, it's disgusting.
If the Scifi channel had any integrity at all they would have just brought back The Dresden Files. There is no reason why it should not. They clearly have access to the cast and writers and I have read that they still have the rights to the source material for two more years.
As it's written on the t-shirts they sell on ebay...
I'd rather be watching The Dresden Files!
Dresden Files only aired about a year and a half ago but the Scifi Channel has been trying very hard to get people to forget about it (even though it was the third highest rated Scifi show of 2007). There were even LIES spread about it. Lie 1 was when it was implied that Paul Blackthorne (Dresden) leaving was the reason the show wasn't continued. This is a lie. He only found new work when Dresden Files wasn't renewed. Lie 2 was amazon's editorial review that said it died of low ratings (It had very high ratings and even occasionally beat Battlestar Galactica in the ratings. Some of us fans were told it had 'hit the wrong demographic.' Older women instead of young boys... What did you expect? I'm twenty-seven and I'll tell your fifty-five-year-old ghost attached to a skull was a hot! The wrong demographic claim was ironic because Scifi was at the time, boasting about Battlettar Galactica drawning in the 'much desired' female audience... Uh, huh...) Lie 3. was in a Variety article in which someone from Scifi claimed Dresden Files was the Scifi Channel's worst commercial failure ignoring the likes of Painkiller Jane and Trash ...I mean Flash Gordan. That article earned Variety magazine more negative responses than any other article published in the last year.
Scifi has taken a George Orwellian approach to The Dresden Files, going as far as to remove it from it's list of shows and or 'other shows' but leaving up older and less liked shows that no longer air, not even airing the reruns and otherwise avoiding mentioning The Dresden Files at all costs hoping the fans will forget. They're trying to rewrite history to pretend it was a failure (because someone is to arrogant, stubborn, and lacking in integrity to admit it was wrong not to continue it) and then hand us this half-hearted imitation. This spawn of Friday the 13th the series and The Dresden Files won't cut it.
The Dresden Files was the most original thing I had ever seen on the Scifi Channel. It was about a private investigator who also happened to be a wizard. He lived with a sarcastic ghost and had to deal with a secret supernatural under belly of Chicago. You know all those aliens in Men In Black roaming New York City? Imagine that only supernatural creatures. You can find Dresden Files listed on hulu.com. They even had a Tony Award Winning Broadway icon playing a ghost. Every magical sigil, every spell, every creature was thoroughly researched in folklore. It was honest and well researched in regard to supernatural beliefs and occultism. It was really very well done and a lot of the story lines were left unfinished. The DVD set on amazon was in the top five highest selling Scifi Channel DVDs just this Holiday season until about a week and a a half ago.
As for what this clip is about (for those confused or just too bored to care), This guy is about to be recruited by Mrs. Frederic here. She's sort of this show's own version of Ancient Mai (Dresden Files character). And she's involved in a mysterious "The Department." (Comparable to The Dresden Files High Council). And she's about to give an assignement to Pete and Myra (Myra is played by a woman who played a vampire in The Dresden Files, in fact there's a small vampire joke toward her in the pilot episode). These two have been assigned to work at a mysterious warehouse where the government stores confiscated magical and haunted and or mysterious objects. And it's their job to keep these items safely locked away. There are a few quirky and mysterious characters near and around the warehouse including a guy who played a detective in The Dresden Files... And there's a ghost in this show called Sam attached to a wallet. I call him Bob 2.0 (or Wallet Boy) because Bob was a ghost bound to a skull in The Dresden Files and just played by an actor about twenty-years older than this new guy. Someone probably thought "People find Bob attractive, a younger guy will be even more lovable! Attach him to a wallet instead of a skull this time, it's easier to carry and less icky!" What's wrong? Terrence Mann too busy doing legitimate theatre to deal with this mess?
Oh, yeah, and this steaming mound of... stuff has one of the Dresden Files writers on staff.
So they could get some of the actors back, one of the writers, and revise Bob (that's just shameful when he was one of the most loved characters of The Dresden Files) and they still have the rights to The Dresden Files for two or so more years but instead of bringing back The Dresden Files we get... this mess.
Please, Scifi, for once in your existence since the reign of Bonnie Hammer and now immediately after... do the right thing. Instead of spoon feeding us this pale imitation do what the fans have been begging for and bring back The Dresden Files. For once, listen to your fans. It wasn't even that expensive of a show!
By AttilaTheNun at 9:33 PM ON 01/17/09
I repeat, guys, instead of mating-and-mutating the Dresden Files and the X-Files, why not just bring back the Dresden Files? Your viewer would respect AND WATCH you more if you'd simply admit a mistake and bring back one of your best successes! Why is a PROVEN SUCCESS not preferable to a comepletely untried new show?
By SylvreWolfe at 9:48 PM ON 01/17/09
Cool, I have been waiting for news on this show. I can't wait
By Mandy at 10:09 PM ON 01/17/09
It's not as cool as you think, Sylvre. I've seen the pilot script. It's Friday the 13th the series with a revamped version of Dresden Files' Bob as a subplot character, with one of the Dresden producers and two of the actors in the cast. They can do all this but not bring back The Dresden FIles?
By Mandy at 10:24 PM ON 01/17/09
Atila, I couldn't agree with you more. Do you hear us, Scifi? We want The Dresden Files!
By SylvreWolfe at 10:31 PM ON 01/17/09
I'll settle for this. It was created and written by Rockne O'Bannon, one of the greatest scifi names out there. He is responsible for several successful scifi shows. I have faith in him for this one too.
By Mandy at 10:57 PM ON 01/17/09
I'll admit this clip doesn't do the show justice. From script I read it's much, much more interesting once these characters actually reach the warehouse. There's this funny bit about an Aladdin's lamp / coffee pot that I thought was hilarious but it still feels like Friday the 13th the series with a sprinkling of The Dresden Files with what I call Wallet Boy or Bob 2.0.
If they could do this with two of Dresden's cast members and one of the producers I don't see why they could not just have continued The Dresden Files.
By jose at 9:35 PM ON 01/19/09
Any chance we could see the old 1960s Outer Limits shows on Scifi again?
By Dan at 2:19 AM ON 01/20/09
As this thread appears to have taken on a new life of "what's wrong with Sci Fi Channel", I can see an avenue to put out my opinions as well.
1. Wrestling is absurd for a "science fiction" channel. I could go on for 20 pages about that, but ABSURD sums it up nicely.
2. Saturday "made for the Sci Fi Channel" "movies" are deplorable trash. If needed, make 1/2 as many and free up more budget for better movies.
3. Dropping Star Gate SG1 and Atlantis...WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?????????? If the actors want to move on to other opportunities, get NEW ONES. The genre had barely been touched, endless story possibilities remain. The sets had already amortized their cost I am sure.
4. Sci Fi, here's a no-brainer...why didn't you pick up existing highly thought of shows that had been canceled on other networks? Firefly, Jericho, etc. which were excellent shows, already existing sets, and relatively inexpensive. AND in the 'sci fi" theme.
5. "shows" like Chase and Mansion...gimme a break. The demographics your advertisers want are 25+, not 10 to 12 years old. Fine shows for the Cartoon Network, but hardly fitting here.
6. Ghost Hunters gets a big thumbs up due to the believability of the "cast" and the methodology used on the show. At least they admit when they don't find something. Your audience far prefers that rather than nonsense screaming. Other pseudo ghost shows offer all the screaming and possesions you can stand.
7. Eureka, huge thumbs up. Excellent cast, funny, witty, and keeps you watching.
8. As much as the idea of investigating UFO/Crypto sightings are intrigueing to me, those shows seem to be sadly lacking, prefering to make "mountains out of mole hills". I commend you for airing them, but put a little substance into them if possible.
8. Galactica. What more can be said? Your ratings Queen, and stunningly well done. As sad as I am to see the show finish, it was obviously coming to a conclusion. Kudos for at least trying a prequel, Caprica.
9. Sci Fi....your audience WANTS you to succeed; we are just tired of crap TV. I would assume that most viewers have some disposable income, which of course attracts advertisers. And with quality viewing, your viewers pay more attention and time on the channel. If not....that little "next channel" is tantalizingly close to our finger.

I've been witness to the Scifi Channel's deterioration for years. I'm pretty sure the last time they saved a dying show from another network it was Sliders. And it lasted a few seasons but by the end they only had one of the original cast members left and the writing style had gone down hill.
I agree with all you've said Dan, however Stargate at least is getting another Spin-off. I'm still in awe at the stupidity of not continuing The Dresden Files and giving us this mess instead. There is no excuse to not continue The Dresden Files. They clearly still have access to the cast and writers, they still have the rights to The Dresden Files, and they obviously realize the character of Bob was well liked if they're intent on spoon feeding us Wallet Boy (Sam of Warehouse 13). So why revamp Friday the 13th the series with a few Dresden elements? Why not just bring back The Dresden Files?

Mandy, I have to confess I never watched even one episode of The Dresen Files. No idea why, perhaps something else was on at the same time on another network, but it's obvious from the huge amount of fans present here that it must have been good.
Instead, Sci Fi leaves us with Scare, Mansion, Chase, WRESTLING.....all quality TV. If you are 10 years old.

Comparing Dresden Files to Battlestar Galactica because they are on the same channel is like comparing Regis and WhatsHerName to the News. They're not the same kind of show. Dresden is much lighter and you can pretty much catch up on Dresden Files in a few seconds and Galactica is a little more complicated and dramatic. Light and easy is easy to catch up on, you don't need primer episodes to catch you up between the seasons.
Please note: I miss Dresden Files! I'm just saying there is no comparison.

I'm not the one making the Battlestar Galactica comparison. I just would rather see Dresden Files continue than this quasi-Friday the 13th the series revamping with Dresden elements. Considering they clearly still have access to the cast, crew and writers it would be more practical just to continue The Dresden Files.

This looks like a hybrid of The Librarian, Special Unit 2, and the X-Files. It also looks like it will be as underwhelming as The Dresden Files. SciFi has proven it can produce some of the very best shows on TV, but far too often now, we get drivel. I will give this show a few episodes to prove it’s worth tuning in to watch. If it sucks, I’ll just have to watch the episodes of Dollhouse that are stating to fill up my TiVo…lol.

This looks good to me. I am not liking Fringe and I think this might be an X-files caliber type show. not sure where everyone is getting Friday the 13th from. I am looking forward to it. Only thing, why say Frederick, then say Mrs. Frederick? That annoyed the hell outta me.
