Producer Harvey Weinstein, whose Weinstein Co. produced Sin City, told SCI FI Wire that he eagerly awaits a sequel script from Frank Miller and added that green-lighting Sin City 2 is a top priority.

"That's good news for me," Weinstein said in an interview on Friday in Universal City, Calif., where he was promoting the HBO miniseries The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.

Weinstein added that he was surprised to learn that Miller is already working on a script. Miller has said previously that he is nearly finished writing the sequel; Weinstein said that he was not even aware it was on deck.

"I hope he's about to finish a script," Weinstein said. "We're certainly going to do Sin City 2 eventually, so I'm sure that's coming up."

Based on Miller's graphic novels, Sin City 2 would be co-directed by Miller and Robert Rodriguez, as was the original.
