In the second part of our midseason television preview, we prognosticate on three series, including the much-anticipated return of SCI FI's Battlestar Galactica, back for its final new episodes. As before, mark your calendars.

1. Kyle XY, ABC Family, returns Monday, Jan. 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. It's been 10 long months since we saw any Kyle XY, but the series returns with 10 new episodes as Kyle heads off to save the missing Amanda. "It's a Kyle-as-Jack-Bauer-trying-to-disable-a-nuclear-bomb kind of episode," co-executive producer Julie Plec tells us. "Kyle is in a dire situation. ... He ends up getting help from someone that we thought was long gone, and he ends up having to save the girl and really get her home in time for curfew."

2. Battlestar Galactica, SCI FI, returns Friday, Jan. 16, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Yes, the embattled Galactica gang, both human and Cylon, finally found Earth—at least we think it's Earth!—only to discover it's an apocalyptic wasteland. What an ironic twist! "The story continues, I think, in unexpected ways," creator and executive producer Ron Moore told us with typical understatement at last year's Comic-Con. "There's a tremendous amount of upheaval. ... It's not really the most happy-go-lucky 10 episodes we've ever done, which is something of a shock, I'm sure. So, yeah, things get bad. Things get really rough out there [for] the Battlestar fleet."

3. Ghost Hunters, SCI FI, returns Wednesdays this spring. We don't have an exact date on this yet, but, yes, those ghost-hunting plumbers will be back for a fifth season with their group of intrepid investigators. No word on what venues they'll investigate, but there is sure to be more compelling evidence of the existence of spectral phenomena. According to ghost hunter and tech manager Steve Gonsalves, "We don't want to stay on the outskirts and just view. We want to get in there. We want these things to tell us they're here and interact with us."
