You know that annoying song that gets stuck in your head and you can't get rid of it?

NBC apparently thinks that's a great idea for a TV show. Variety reports that the network—our corporate overmaster, whom we love dearly—is developing Soundtrack, writer Jared Bush's music-themed drama project.

In the show, a misguided man's life begins being accompanied by the music in his head. He's lost his job, and his ex-girlfriend has gotten engaged to someone else. That's when he starts to hear the music—the same iconic song, over and over again, which doesn't go away until he figures out its significance—and then it's on to the next track, the trade paper reports.

Universal Media Studios is behind the show, along with Mosaic TV. Mosaic's Jimmy Miller is also attached as executive producer. Also on board is music supervisor Dana Sano, whose feature credits include handling the music for Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, among other features.

Bush's TV credits include All of Us, Baby Bob and Still Standing. That's right, Baby Bob. Who says there are no second acts in Hollywood?
