NBC sets March premiere date for Kings

NBC sets March premiere date for \<i\>Kings\<\/i\>

NBC set an 8 p.m. March 15 date for the two-hour premiere of its "magic realism" drama series Kings, which will air Sundays.

Kings comes from executive producer Michael Green (NBC's Heroes) and tells the story of a modern-day monarchy, based on the biblical story of King David. The series is an epic story of greed and power, war and romance, forbidden loves and secret alliances—and a young hero who rises to power.

Kings stars Ian McShane, Chris Egan, Sebastian Stan, Susanna Thompson, Allison Miller, Wes Studi, Eamonn Walker and Dylan Baker. The show is produced by Universal Media Studios and is executive-produced by Green, Erwin Stoff and Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend), who also directed the two-hour premiere.

Look for SCI FI Wire's exclusive interview with Green and Lawrence soon.

An alternate universe TV show. Hope it's good!

I wonder if the forbidden love alluded to is a homosexual affair between Jonathan and David...Now that would be cool.

Saw a chunk of the premiere at Comic Con and REALLY liked it. Very cinematic, interesting storyline and acting that is hard to look away from. Looking forward to this one.

I saw this at Comic Con and, much as I may adore Ian McShane, I thought the pilot was deadly dull, ham-fisted in its symbolism and frequently unintentionally hilarious in its self-importance. It was held back this long for a reason. I don't this it'll last more than four/five eps before being pulled from the air.

Unless it's been greatly re-worked since it was screened in July, the audience will quickly lose patience with the cardboard hero, the leaden dialogue and the planet-sized gaps in logic. Pity. I'd love to see more of McShane - just in something worthy of his talent.
