Secrets of Watchmen's Dr. Manhattan revealed in newly discovered video

Secrets of \<i\>Watchmen\<\/i\>\'s Dr. Manhattan revealed in newly discovered video

A viral video for Watchmen has hit YouTube: a faux 1970 newscast commemorating the 10th anniversary of Dr. Manhattan's creation, part of Warner Brothers' stepped-up marketing for the movie. You can watch the video after the jump.

The viral video is only part of Warner's campaign now that its legal dispute with Fox has been settled, clearing the way for Watchmen's March 6 release.

The studio has also put up a viral Web site for the New Frontiersman, the ultra-right-wing tabloid periodical that is part of the Watchmen universe.

Nicely done, from the tinny sound to the sparse news room to the "this has been a color presentation."

You do realize that, in relations to politics, the US media is backwards. Traditionally, red is the color of liberalism, and blue the color of conservatives. Communism uses red for this very reason. To this day, in every country but the US, red is the color of the liberal parties and blue for the conservative parties.

Not to get off topic, but some years back the networks colored Dem states red and the Reps blue. The Dems complained that they were being called commies so the colors were supposed to change every cycle. Seems they stuck the other way.

I am a fan of the graphic novel and will definitely see the movie when it comes out.

This is, of course, an alternate world where the US actually had a super being in their arsenal when fighting wars.

I'm hoping they stay true to the source material, although after V, I'm concerned, but will still be there opening week.
