Bloody-Disgusting reported a rumor that Jena Malone (Donnie Darko, The Ruins) has been tapped to star in Joss Whedon's horror movie The Cabin in the Woods.

Whedon co-wrote the movie, which aims to upend the young-people-stranded-in-the-woods horror story, with former Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer Drew Goddard, who will also direct.

Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford were the first announced to star last week. Cabin in the Woods is slated for release on Feb. 5, 2010.
