Warner Sunset/Reprise Records will release both the soundtrack and the original score to Watchmen on March 3, three days before the highly anticipated movie hits theaters.

Music From the Motion Picture Watchmen, the film's official soundtrack, includes My Chemical Romance's reinterpretation of Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row," recorded exclusively for the film. The soundtrack also features a collection of classic songs by such artists as Nat King Cole, Simon & Garfunkel and Janis Joplin.

Watchmen Original Motion Picture Score features music by Tyler Bates, who was asked to score the film by director Zack Snyder. Tyler also scored Snyder's 300 and Dawn of the Dead. Bates has also been chosen to score the Watchmen DVD's added story, Tales From the Black Freighter.

Separately, Warner Brothers announced the March 3 release of Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic on Blu-ray disc. A standard DVD has not been announced yet.

The two albums will be released as a CD and a digital album on March 3 and as a vinyl record on March 17. A Watchmen Music Collectors Edition 7-inch box set will be released on March 24; it will contain seven double-sided 7-inch picture discs of each Watchmen character on one side and images in the likeness of the graphic novel on the other.
