Anton Yelchin shoots down Green Lantern rumors

Anton Yelchin shoots down \<i\>Green Lantern\<\/i\> rumors

In an interview at WonderCon in San Francisco on Saturday, Anton Yelchin denied that he's in talks to take on the role of Hal Jordan in a proposed Green Lantern movie and said he knew nothing about rumors that he was under consideration for the role. Last week, Latino Review reported that Yelchin is one of the actors being considered for the role, citing anonymous sources.

"I had no idea about that," Yelchin said while promoting his upcoming Terminator Salvation, in which he plays a young Kyle Reese.

His Terminator co-star, Bryce Dallas Howard, chimed in: "He was talking about that on the plane! He's like, where do these come from?"

"I have no clue," Yelchin added. "I have no idea. I think I'm probably too young. I mean, no one's approached me, no one's said anything to me. So I imagine I'm just too young. I mean, it's a great character, but I don't know anything about it. ... I haven't heard anything about it." Terminator Salvation opens May 21.

I agree he is too young, Hugh Jackman would be great! Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice) would be a great choice Too.
But let the people who make Spiderman and Iron Man make the movie. They know how to make comic book movies.

Hal Jordan should be cast as a relatively unknown actor. any big name actor could potentially ruin the movie, after all, look at Ben Afleck in Daredevil or Thomas Jane as the Punisher, it just doesnt work.

I happen to think the first Punisher was great and Thomas Jane great also, and he was not a big star. I don't think he is that big now. Hugh Jackman is a big star and he is Wolverine! nuff said!

I didn't think Thomas Jane was such a big star when Punisher came out. True, I was told he was in some other film, but I didn't see it. He was an unknown to me. Personally, I liked the rumor that Nathan Fillian was going to be Hal. He's got just the right attitude, in my opinion.

If you read the LatinoReview article, it doesn't say that Yelchin is in talks to play Green Lantern, only that the producers are "looking at" several young actors, among them Yelchin. They could be considering him without having even talked to his agent yet. Get your facts straight, Sci-Fi Wire.

Good! He's totally wrong for the part. I agree with the others: they need a relative unknown in the role; that is, unless they could get Ryan Gosling because I think he would be perfect.

Why do they want to cast children for adult roles? Remember the Justice League film, they cast a 18 yr old and a 19 yr old for Batman and Superman. Thank God that got canceled

Patrick, no where in the article does it state that he is in talks to play Green Lantern. Just that he's one of the actors being looked at. C'mon dude.

Hey El Guapo: We'll clarify. :)

Jeffrey Donovan...hmmmm I like it!!! Good to see someone with a decent casting eye besides myself. I know someone at Warner who I can mention this to.
