Confirmed: New contract to keep Star Trek The Experience alive in Vegas

Confirmed: New contract to keep \<i\>Star Trek\<\/i\> The Experience alive in Vegas

SCI FI Wire confirmed today that a contract has been signed with CBS/Paramount to reopen the Star Trek The Experience exhibit in Las Vegas on May 8 —starting with at least a new restaurant and retail shop—to coincide with the opening of J.J. Abram's Star Trek movie.

"It is a bit premature to talk about it, but I can confirm that a contract has been signed," Liz Kalodner, executive vice president and general manager of CBS consumer products in New York, told SCI FI Wire exclusively. "I do not have any further comment."

Las Vegas city public information officer Jace Radke confirmed to SCI FI Wire that Star Trek The Experience, which was to be closed at its home at the Las Vegas Hilton this year, will move downtown to the Neonopolis Center. "This is going to be a major part of the downtown redevelopment we have been working on, and the city department of business development has been trying to encourage attractions like this to the area," he said.

The Experience featured a restaurant and bar, shops and motion-simulator rides themed to Star Trek: The Next Generation ("Klingon Encounter") and Star Trek: Voyager ("Borg Invasion 4-D"). It's expected the new exhibit would feature similar rides at some point. For now, however, the plans envision just a new version of Quark's Restaurant and Bar, a Museum of the Future (perhaps incorporating elements and characters from the new movie) and a shop.

For his part, Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman said, "We are very excited about this for downtown."

The move would be part of the city's effort to redevelop the older part of downtown Las Vegas—situated at the end of the Strip of large casinos—into a more vibrant tourist and residential area. The Neonopolis project is one of the centerpieces of the area.

Radke added, "We are trying to secure other projects as well, but this Star Trek exhibit is happening, and we hope to have a portion of it ready by May 8. We're working on getting the Ts crossed and the Is dotted in the contract."

startrek_theexperience2.jpg

Journalist Mark Hansel, who writes for In Business Las Vegas, has seen the contracts signed by studio officials, Neonopolis owners and the city of Las Vegas. "I have seen the contract, and I know that the city redevelopment manager met with CBS officials in New York to seal the deal," said Hansel, who has covered the downtown redevelopment for years for In Business and the Las Vegas Sun. "They are hoping that there will be some sort of premiere event at the time of the movie opening that will be out here. Obviously, the big premiere will be in Hollywood, but they hope to have something out here, too."

The costumes, the historic timeline, models of the ships and other items at the Star Trek The Experience exhibit will be moved to a museum that is planned for the new location, but much of the exhibit probably won't be opened until the end of 2010.

"I wouldn't expect the cool stuff for about a year," Hansel said. "A lot of it also depends on the popularity of the movie and how well it does, but the trailer looks like it's going to be pretty great." He added: "The price is going to be cheaper, maybe $20 or $25, and there may be package deals or year-long memberships, that kind of thing."

Hansel said interest in the exhibit has waned in recent years. "I talked to people in the town about it, and they just weren't going or interested, but now there's a new buzz, especially since this is going back to the early years of the series," he added.

The new venue already has a 3-D-enabled movie theater, and there may be plans to have a 4-D "experiential" ride similar to the ones at the Hilton. Neonopolis manager Rohit Joshi projected that 7 million visitors could come to the exhibit a year, which Hansel said is "a reasonable estimate."

Neonopolis will also host the Southern Nevada Fine Arts Museum, a Barbizon School, the Spanish-language Telemundo station and an upscale nightclub. The biggest draw is expected to be Star Trek The Experience.

Woo Hoo! Trek lives on once more!

By DustMan at 5:38 PM ON 02/26/09

I'm not if scifi or the Las Vegas Public Information Officer mad the mistake, but "Star Trek The Experience, which was to be closed at its current home at the Las Vegas Hilton this year" is totally wrong. The Star Trek Experience already closed last year as was covered in numerous places (including, trekmovie.com and, I believe here, though the site change makes that difficult to validate). It wasn't exactly a secret.

By SCI FI Wire at 6:28 PM ON 02/26/09

@Dustman: Sorry, our mistake. We'll fix.

By Captain Pierce at 6:52 PM ON 02/26/09

I made some time to hit The Experience when I happened to be in Vegas last June, and it was a fun way to kill an afternoon. Glad to see it's coming back.

ah, but will they offer Klingon Weddings???

k'plagh!

By Darth Snoopy at 8:30 PM ON 02/26/09

Cool...I visited ST:TE both times I went to Vegas and has lots of fun!
Glad to hear it will reopen!

By JasonInMelbourne at 9:24 PM ON 02/26/09

I'm so jealous. Here in Melbourne, Australia, we were supposed to get a Paramount Studio/Theme park in our redeveloped Docklands area which was to include a similar ST:TE, but the deal fell through!

By Quarksbartender at 9:46 PM ON 02/26/09

I was a bartender at Quarks for about 9 years and have been downtown a couple times recently because I keep hearing about this and the area that it is supposed to be in hasn't even begun construction. I hope they can get something going quick that would be pretty cool if it opened before the new movie.

By Khalessa at 10:07 PM ON 02/26/09

I will be there! I was depressed big time when it closed

By wilk90 at 10:27 PM ON 02/26/09

maybe this time they can promote the venue better so it can attract people. I went 2 yrs ago and it was the most amazing part of vegas for me. especially the shuttle ride and borg attraction. That GOD they brought it back. Hope they rehire the old staff, those that want to come back.

By IsoTek at 11:16 PM ON 02/26/09

I hope Robert Picardo sees this. I remember seeing his video on how disappointed he was to hear the "Experience" may be closing.

By pemtrek at 11:17 PM ON 02/26/09

this is great news can;t wait to see it

By TomCroom at 12:16 AM ON 02/27/09

I felt special for having seen it before it closed... kind of a "glad I got there before it shut down" sort of feeling.

It made for great bragging rights for friends who had never been.

Now that will all be taken away because they conned us about it permanently closing.

COOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNEEEEED us!

By Killian at 3:25 AM ON 02/27/09

But it did close down and I missed out not having visited LV in more than 15 yrs.

Glad to hear ST:The Experience v2.0 is opening though. I'll definitely visit next year.

By LaughingVulcan at 8:21 AM ON 02/27/09

Wonder how it will be.... the rides were a big part of the Experience. (I'm a little biased though, as I was married there, on the bridge of the 1701-D. :) ) Now we can have an anniversary trip!

By JediBeba at 10:26 AM ON 02/27/09

THANK GOODNESS!! We loved the Experience and I'm SO glad we will have somewhere to get our Star Trek fix everytime we go to Vegas! Warp core breach was THE best drink I've ever had! Quarksbartender you have the recipe??

By clive at 10:44 AM ON 02/27/09

Supposedly some former workers (and bartenders) at the Experience are making a homemade documentary on the rise and fall of the original attraction. A rebirth like this would make a great happy ending. You can read about the flick HERE.

By Nathan at 11:17 AM ON 02/27/09

Great!

I was lucky enough to be there on opening day in 1998. It was wonderful getting to see all the Star Trek actors making an appearance. It's too bad that I live so far away and can't see it regularly.

By Jace Radke at 11:30 AM ON 02/27/09

Hi Mike. Just wanted to clarify the following comment that you misquoted me on.

"We are trying to secure other projects as well, but this Star Trek exhibit is happening, and we hope to have a portion of it ready by May 8. We're working on getting the Ts crossed and the Is dotted in the contract."

I never said "We" hope to have a portion of it ready by May 8. I told you that "they" Neonopolis hopes to have a portion ready by the opening of the new movie. Also it is Neonopolis that is working on the contract.

The city does not own Neonopolis and is not directly involved in the Star Trek the Experience deal.

No worries, but I just wanted to clarify that.

By darthbono at 1:01 PM ON 02/27/09

that's great new's i just hope if they rebuild the bridge set of the enterprise -D this time they will allow people to take pictures wile sitting in the captains chair because when i was there they did not allow it that's something they could make money from right there other than the crapy pictures you could get made where you stood in front of a blank wall and they made a picture that looked like you where on a set. but that was back in 97 so maybe they have changed since then but then again it's hard to tell with paramount these days

By SJU at 2:52 PM ON 02/27/09

Yay, I've been to the Exp. twice and look forward to many more visits. Plus, it'll get me out of the Hilton more and onto the strip.

By Collin at 2:59 PM ON 02/27/09

To darthbono -- You have got to have been in another galaxy or sleeping under a rock for the last nine years at least !! You have got it all wrong -- STTE opened on Jan. 4, 1998, NOT 1997. And you obviously did not go & re-visit the place ever. They started doing official photos on the bridge for at least the last five or six years. They were called "Photo in the Captain's Chair" -- guests were brought onto the bridge and a photo (a good quality one at that) was taken then printed and placed in an official Star Trek: The Experience frame / folder. When they opened the other ride (Borg Invasion 4 - D), they did photos in the Borg Regeneration Chamber as well. I know, I worked there from when they opened to when they closed and I (and several crewmembers) took the photos when that program was first initiated.

By Mostskillz at 3:10 PM ON 02/27/09

Great news! Glad to see this fun experience is going to continue living in a new spot.

By Transporterbob at 4:41 PM ON 02/27/09

Thank God!!! We are so glad this is being reopened! Can't tell you how happy that it's out of the Hilton too. We will miss the monorail the went to it tho. We really really really really really hope that the restaurant and bar will stay open past 11:00 pm!!! come on this is Vegas, I need to get my Romulan Ale and warp core breaches past midnight! Glad it's coming back!!!

By guyfromindy at 5:00 PM ON 02/27/09

Quarksbartender, several years ago I was there and had a Warp Core Breach, could you post the formula?

By SCI FI Wire at 5:11 PM ON 02/27/09

Jace Radke: Thank you for your post. We take very seriously any claims that we have misquoted people; however, in this instance, our reporter's notes bear out the exact wording of your statement.

That said, we are happy to clarify for you that the City of Las Vegas doesn't dictate what goes on with the Neonopolis center. But our reporting shows that the city did get involved in planning the move of the exhibit.

If you have further concerns about the accuracy of this story, please send an e-mail directly to Patrick Lee, the news editor, at patrick@scifiwire.com.

By lakehome67 at 5:12 PM ON 02/27/09

I was there back in July but I didn't even know it was going to close down. Now I have something to look forward to again if I go back to Vegas.

By lfhlaw at 6:53 PM ON 02/27/09

I visited ST:TE back in 2005 and i had a blast. I was disappointed to hear that it was closing recently (now closed). But now I'm happy that there's a chance it may go back up in downtown Las Vegas.

One of the few things that I want them to do is have the initial entry way to the museum, but have a second area where when u enter, it's like walking into the Starship. and you're free to roam around sit on bulk heads. Two areas would be for the 4-D rides and the bridge video/show for the ride. But it would be fun to see a Star Trek Cafeteria with the round tables and possibly crewman and women wandering around. and for some of the monitors to help you out around the area.

Sliding doors a la Star Trek all the wonderful stuff.
maybe even a surprise door(closet) that if u open it tribbles would fall out then some ensign would show up to clean them up and dispose of them. Possibly a Klingon Battle show every so often in a combat room showing Klingons with the bat'lath(bad spelling).

Possibly occasionally have "diplomates" from other worlds show up and wander down the hallways interacting with the wandering people. Just something really immersive when you get on a starship.

By Misterfusion at 7:57 PM ON 02/27/09

I was there on opening night of the original Experrience and went every time I was in Vegas...till the price went thru the roof and I refused to pay that kind of $$$.

I'm very happy to see that the new Powers That Be have taken our current economy into account and don't just see the Trek fans as a group of dorks that will pay any price as long as the Trek name is on it.

I was so sad to hear about the Experience closing down and am thrilled to hear about it reopening, but they need to get the sims back, I've been to it 3 times in the last 4 years and want to go back

By DCTrekFan at 2:18 PM ON 03/01/09

So glad to hear about this! I was at the Hilton a few weeks ago and it was depressing to see the area boarded up and construction going on. Above the old entrance are tributes to the Experience written in the dust. Someone on the Hilton cleaning staff must miss the cast, because it seems to have been there awhile. I look forward to a future visit to at the new location.

By DCTrekFan at 2:21 PM ON 03/01/09

And more: Sounds as if they're pushing to open along with the movie, so hopefully the sim rides will follow (maybe a new one)? I did the "Behind the Scenes" tour a couple of years ago and that was great. I also have an unusual souvenir, an engraved plaque I found on the floor that says "The Borg Invasion is Temporarily Closed. Please enjoy the Klingon Encounter". Much better than anything available in the gift shop! Please don't turn me in to Hilton security!

By Big Kahuna at 2:49 AM ON 03/02/09

I've gone the the Trek exp. three times and never got tired of it when we went to Vegas. On my last trip to vegas I even stayed at the Hilton and gambled in that part close to the experience section. I even bought a case of Romulan ale to bring home. Will they have the same stuff in there new location.
We plan an taking a vacation to vegas this november and are going to stay at the golden nugget. Is that close to the new experience location?

Saying interest in The Experience has wained when asking folks who live in Vegas is like saying going to Disneyland has wained when asking poeple who live in Buena Park! Geez! It's not FOR the people who live there every day, it's for us Trek fans who get to visit once a year!! We're the ones they should be asking! WE'LL GO THERE and spend our MONEY to be sure! It's a great re-investment for Las Vegas and a much wanted and supported ACTION TREK EVENT for all Star Trek Fans!
Can't wait to get back to Vegas and check on the progress!

By tomo66 at 5:42 AM ON 03/03/09

I’ve had the honor/luck to visit The Experience 3 times: October 2002 (vacation), August 2005 (Star Trek Con) & August 2008 (Star Trek Con), the latter 2 with wonderfully nerdy friends. And we came all the way from Denmark in Europe! I never thought I'd ever consider returning to Las Vegas after they closed it (The Experience that is, not Las Vegas ;-)), but here we are, seriously planning our triumphant return. Only when, we don't know yet.

I went to Vegas a couple of years ago with the sole purpose of going to the Experience. I went three time during one visit. If the Experience reopens, I'll make plans to go back to Vegas.

By Wolfebets at 7:45 AM ON 03/05/09

My husband and I got married in Las Vegas in 2001 solely because we wanted to see the ST Experience. We couldn't afford to get married on the bridge back then but determined to get remarried there for our 10-year anniversary. We've been back several times and loved going whenever in town. We were heartbroken when we found out it was closing and our dreams of finally bringing our friends and family to the Experience were dashed. My biggest question is will they rebuild the bridge and hallways and how soon? If not the Enterprise D, then will there be a ship simulation at all? Remember that these places were part of the Klingon Encounter before entering the shuttle, so I'm concerned about how soon they'll have a ride like that available. Will they also have a wedding service planner and package available again?

By rodowobo at 5:25 PM ON 03/07/09

Literally EVERY time I went to Vegas (which was often enough, being that I live in SLC, Utah), I made it a point to visit The Experience. As for whom might give a rip without the rides, well; I know I would. I went ON the rides, but didn't feel the need to EVERY time I visited. I more thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the shops, the STUFF available in those shops; and of course, those Warp Core Breaches! I was saddened to see it all go, and very happy to hear it's coming back. I will make yet another point to visit!

Hi! - Got married at the Experience in Oct. 2007. I had the time of my life! All Trek fans that "I know" are sitting on the edge of their chairs - waiting for STTE to re-open...

I anticipate that they will "mothball" the elements of the experience that will asthetically "conflict" with the new direction of the film that will show this May 2009.

I assume that the "transparent plastic visuals" will set the pace for the new and updated look that the new venue will feature.

....If you take a look at the James Bond Film, Quantum of Solace, - the experience restaurant and theme will resume with the new "british intelligence headquarters and briefing room approach."

Further, the reason for the construction appearing to lag at this time is probably because of the need to complete the software that will project the graphics and user interface elements onto plexiglass screens and large clear backdrops that will probably project state-of-the-art tactical and strategic array information - in keeping with an updated and fresh Star Trek theme! -

Finally, - You can probably expect the restaurant food and theme elements will be rethought and "updated" to attract a wider base of local customers who will patronize the establishment, so you can probably expect a more "formal" and yet "fun" format that will appeal to older and younger persons that visit the new restaurant. I also would expect that the thrill rides will arrive as soon as the current national tour concludes and are then, - "bolted into the experience" as an augmentation to attract the second wave of customers who will want to return within a year "anyway."

I think the "experience will return and will be better than ever." I think that it won't be the same, but then again, whenever one moves from one place to another, when "is it?"

"May the wind be at our backs! - Station..! "

By enterprise1659 at 3:12 PM ON 03/18/09

We ended up spending most of our time here simply because it was a LOT of fun and the staff (in character) did everything possible to make you believe you were in the 24th Century. Escapism, yer gotta love it.

I’ve sure enjoyed reading all of your posts on The Experience. I had the privilege of enjoying the S.T. Mecca multiple times and really look forward to some new memories at the new digs!

One of my most memorable visits included an impromptu discussion with a rather imposing Klingon female in front of Quark’s. I asked her (in full Klingon dialect mind you) where the bathroom was (just to see if could trip her up). She got right in my face (with true Klingon breath :) and without missing a beat said, “By the stairs and to the left.” Needless to say, I and my friends were quite impressed with the exchange :)

This same Klingon female also peeked in my bag that I was holding, and seeing that in a moment of weakness I had purchased a signed plaque from Patrick Stewart she said, “I see you’ve been to the Admiral’s Gift Shop. You will need an escort to get out of here alive. When you are ready to leave, I will escort you to protect your life.... and your purchase” And she made good on her word!

I also want to say that I envy those couples mentioned on this post who BOTH enjoy Star Trek. My wife could care less. I know some of you know what I mean!

Anyway, thanks for letting me bend your pointed ears :)

By Shalmendo at 3:03 AM ON 04/08/09

Boy, I'm glad it's coming back. I made it early on in it's existence, before borg 4-D and NEVER made it back. It was the most memorable trip to vegas I've ever had! I especially enjoyed the argument I had with a Klingon about his forehead, and wether or not I COULD accurately reproduce Cochrane's warp theory formula! I actually CAN reproduce it but I didn't have any paper on me at the time so I couldn't hold true to my statement. (He let me off with a comment about my mother's forehead instead). The complete immersion the staff created was the most wonderful experience I've ever had. Aside from the klingon argument a ferengi tried to sell me something, and I had a few other conversations. I completely let myself get into it while my dad (40 at the time) just stared at everything. LOL! (I think he fell asleep at one point too, bah parents) Anyway, GLAD it's coming back, they WILL see me there. Oh and THANK YOU so much to the staff....you made my year! (I wonder if that Klingon even vaugely remembers me...)

By Shalmendo at 3:06 AM ON 04/08/09

Oh, my ONLY complaint is that there was NO Audience participation...while it was well done, it felt fake...like you were watching a stage play, from on the stage....or something similiar. but other then that it was WONDERFUL. I never got to go on the behind the scenes look or anything...never made it back in time.

By Trek Girl at 5:24 PM ON 04/09/09

So glad to hear it is reopening. Just got married on the bridge last year and hated the thought of it closing. Must renew our vows there in a few years.

We renewed our vows on the bridge of the Enterprise for our 25th anniversary. It was definitely an "Experience" We were really sad to hear the news it was closing last year. It will be worth a trip to Vegas again now that it has found a new home. Can't wait!

By Sledgehammer at 5:07 PM ON 04/20/09

As hopeful as I am that this will be as cool as the old site at the Hilton, I can't help but feel that this is going to be a cheesy half-assed attempt at a ST bar and grill, and once the movie hype has died down, the bar will close. I took the behind the scenes tour, and the Experience took up a lot of square footage, and recreating it downtown could be prohibitively expensive.

It would be too bad, many a night have I spent in Quarks sucking down Warp Core Breachs with compatriots from various trade shows, and I'd hate to have those fine blurry memories ruined by a limp attempt at generating hype.

Oh, and the rides, they have to be there. With digital filmmaking being what it is, you could totally redo the ride film for Klingon Encounter fairly cheap. No real excuse not to do so.

So here's hoping they do a good job. I don't want to be right about this.

By Dana at 5:19 PM ON 04/21/09

I hope you have something open by late May ! I'll be in Vegas then and I and a one of the true died in the wool Trekkies that was outraged at the closing of The Star Trek Experience last year. The biggest trade show in my industry in at the Sands Expo every year so I've always stayed on the strip. However, if you get this up to par to what the Hilton had I WILL start staying downtown!

Maybe they could extend the monorail to downtown too!?!

PS Email me with any news about the reopening!!!!!

Very good!! Everytime my spouse and I go to Vegas the Experience was first on our list. We loved the place. WE are very excited that it will be opening on the 8th with the movie. We are going to be on vacation during that week and plan on attending the grand opening and the movie - both downtown. This is going to be a great boost for that area and shame on the Hilton for not realizing how many people went off the strip to visit their hotel for the main reason that the Experience was there. Their loss and downtowns gain. We will have to come back in 2011 to see how the Experience downtown has evolved. Way to go!!!

Glad to hear ST:TE will re-open.

I hope it will stay based upon the TNG series. I wouldn't mind them having a secondary venue for the TOS(and up coming movie but I wouldn't want it to replace the TNG venue.

It's really too bad that the city couldn't get it's act together sooner on this. The new movie is a monster hit and even just Quarks Bar was up and running right now, they would be gnereating Tens of MILLIONS of extra dollars over the next few months. I'm sure that in this economy even Vegas could use the injection of capital (whether Latinum or Dollars).

Criticism aside, I am very happy that the exhibit will reopen at some point and I would actually like to see at least part of it based on JJ Abrams new vision. I am a 40+ Star Trek fan and have been a fan for over 30 years, but I really like the look and feel of the direction he has taken and I think it would translate very well into a "new" Star Trek Experience.

By luvmycms at 5:32 PM ON 05/18/09

I was just there on Saturday and there is no Quarks. =-(

i am so glad to see it coming back. need to know when it is to open up to the public. the hilton sure lost out when they closed it down.

By Upper Tupper at 9:38 PM ON 05/29/09

Yes, it was pretty sad when I stopped in to the Hilton to have lunch on Tuesday and found the Star Trek Experience was gone. I'm glad it's going to come back.

By zeon at 11:23 AM ON 06/30/09

Too bad for Hilton. Thaa was the ONLY reason I went to their casino. Not anymore and hello downtown..

By hdfed at 9:28 AM ON 07/07/09

What is the address of the new location? Did it open or not?

By Salsidoux at 5:37 AM ON 07/11/09

I was completely gutted when I heard the experience had closed. I went to Vegas May last year and loved every part of the star trek experience. I hope the new venue is just as involved and hopefully bigger, then I'm definately going back!

By AusSTGirl at 9:35 PM ON 07/16/09

I was shocked to hear it had closed down... I've never been, but my husband has, and he said he'd take me when I'd watched them all. At first I thought I'd totally missed out, but was so relieved to find out that I hadn't!! Phew... Well, whenever we do get to go, it had better be good, and not cheesy! I've loved reading all your stories about the great times had there, and apparently, I have to try a Warp Core Breach!

By sailingzeek at 5:47 PM ON 07/28/09

We saw Star Trek @ the Hilton and loved it so much we stayed all day. Please don't let this get away. I am looking forward to seeing it all again on Freemont Street in December.

By THE BRONX COP at 4:23 PM ON 07/29/09

By Lwaxana Troi at 6:05 PM ON 07/30/09

When I heard about the experience opening over 10 years ago I was so excited to go. From that point on that was the only vacation I have ever wanted to take … I want to go to the experience!!! But I had a big family and never could afford to take the trip. Sadly now my husband I can finally afford to Vegas only to discover Star Trek the Experience is closed!!! I am hart broken!!! I probably won’t be able to afford to go on another trip for another 10 years!!! I can’t believe my bad luck!!!

By sailingzeek at 2:29 PM ON 08/10/09

Hey, The Bronx Cop, surely you are kidding me. Nothing there at all? I will be disappointed as I already have hotel reservations. But there are many other things that take me back to Vegas every year.

By the bronx cop at 3:26 PM ON 08/10/09

sailingzeek;there is nothing at the neonopolis but a JEWERLY store.the place (neonopolis)is a ghost town.vegas is a great place to visit.i go there 3xs a year next trip is in november.i'm just disappointed that the hype of the experience was a LIE.enjoy your trip.

By bummedout at 12:44 AM ON 08/15/09

I just got back, stayed at the Hilton about the 10th time, because of Star Trek...I was so bummed that it was all blocked off...and the Hilton check in staff was so rude...won't be going back there again... I hope The Experience re opens in a far better place...counting the days...

By Star Trek Grandma at 5:40 PM ON 08/16/09

Hey,has anyone heard exactly what is going on with the reopening of the Experience. I hope someone picks up this awesome display of fun Trekkie stuff. I loved the rides and all the history - can't wait to take my grandchildern someday!!!

By Son of a Maui Portagee at 8:32 PM ON 08/16/09

Where will they put The Star Trek Experience?

By geodes at 3:33 AM ON 09/05/09

WHY NO NEWS ON THE OPENING DATE, AND LOCATION, WHY NO INFORMATION, WHATS GOING ON . IS SOMEONE TRYING TO BLOCK IT. CAROL OF ONTARIO,CA

By m1csniper at 5:18 AM ON 09/06/09

It is because of CBS that the Experience has not opened at Neonopolis yet.

By hkh at 4:58 PM ON 09/10/09

Anyone with any info on the opening, PLEASE POST THE INFO
as I am going to be in Vegas in October, and didn't want to spend the $70 to go to Star Trek Experience last time I was there
glad to hear of a possible price change

By m2csniper at 11:29 PM ON 09/27/09

It will not be opening here in Vegas anytime soon.

By Tribble_Gallery at 8:20 PM ON 10/03/09

Well, was just up in Vegas on 9/28/09 and stopped by the Old Hilton. The Experience is all borded but nothing else has changed, the tube with the blue plasma light is still there and the toilets still talk to you while your peeing. If you put your back towards the boarded up experience it looks like nothings changed. Then I went downtown to the neonopolis. What a disappointment, there was nothing there, no signs or billboards, no construction, nothing. Are we sure there was a contract signed or was it all hype just to shut up us hardcore trekkies? Someone with info please let us know, us tribbles are running out of QUADROTRITICALE!!!!!!!
