Director David Nutter has signed on to helm and executive-produce ABC's pilot of Eastwick, Warner Brothers TV's adaptation of 1987 hit The Witches of Eastwick, Variety reported.
Eastwick, about three women who discover they have supernatural powers after a mysterious man arrives in their small town, appealed to Nutter because of the strength of the concept that writer-executive producer Maggie Friedman has developed for the series. (The 1987 film was based on the novel by John Updike.)
Nutter's pilot tally in recent years includes Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and The CW's Supernatural.
