Black Hawk Down screenwriter Ken Nolan has been brought on to rework the script for Paramount's untitled moon project, a sci-fi movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Nolan is the latest writer to bring his take to an action film about lunar colonization. Doug Liman, who is producing and directing the film, wrote an original screenplay with John Hamburg.
Black Hawk Down book author Mark Bowden revamped that script, then Dan Mazeau did a new version using material compiled from the story work of Liman, Bowden and Simon Kinberg, who also is producing.

No idea what this movie is about but I look forward to any movie that takes a more realistic approach to sci-fi. And the moon is a soarly underused source of fiction in movies. Liman can be hit or miss... Bourne Identity was great, Jumper I didn't see but haven't heard good things. Hopefully this won't get stuck in development hell.

Let's hope this movie avoids the usual mistake in Luna-based SF on film -- outside, in spacesuits, everyone makes the slow-walking, hopping steps, while inside, with no evidence of artificial gravity, they walk normally.
Even 2001 made this error!
