Human or Toaster? The new iPhone Cylon Detector lets you be sure
Admit it: You've always wondered about that co-worker with the icy stare or that blonde from last Saturday's party who wouldn't give you her number: They're most likely emotionless killer cyborgs from another galaxy.
Cylons. Frakkin' toasters.
Well, now you can be sure. SCI FI Channel today announced that fans of Battlestar Galactica can now download a Cylon Detector app from the iTunes App Store for your iPhone for $1.99.
The Cylon Detector app lets iPhone or iPod touch users simply snap a picture of the suspected Cylon or, using a stored image from the "Photos" section, select either "Scan Male" or "Scan Female."
Testing will commence. In just moments, the subject's face will appear in a classic Battlestar scene along with the verdict: CYLON or HUMAN. Once you know the truth, you can save the results, send them to a friend or download them to a computer, and, in the case of the skinjob, look for the nearest convenient airlock to blast them out of.

They sure do come out with goofy crap these days. Never did care for battlestar the old version was ok, but this remake makes me wonder if scifi is ever going to put a good show on tv.

Great, so were supposed to plop down cash in these hard scrabble times for a peice of tech that didn't even get used on the show save for one episode. Geez.

I think this should be thought of more as a toy, rather than technology. It's nothing that we "gotta have" in order to improve production. No one is forcing us to buy this novelty item.

I remember several years ago, Scifi.com had an "alien detector" download for the Palm Pilot that was free. why couldn't they do the same with this one?

Baltar's cylon detector was used at least once on Boomer in season 1 of the reimagined BSG. Anyone who thinks the new BSG is not at least a good show either has not watched it, or doesn't know what a good TV production is . . ..

Actually, I want to get an iPhone too so I can get this app... bloody brilliant show, perhaps a bit melodramatic at times, but still, best show on tv, now what am I going to watch....
