I hate these stupid brief promos with "interviews" that offer up simple sounds bites of "it's gonna be great!" from the actors whose career is relying on this movie. I'm no hater, this movie will most likely be better than I think the Star Trek franchise deserves at this point. But still, just cut out the needless fluff and post the stuff we want, actual footage.

From what they DID show, I think this has the potential to match the popularity of the original series. The Enterprise sure looks about 100 times cooler. I am dying to see if the new Kirk is better than the original.

Is it possible to nominate a movie for a golden razzie before it comes out?

confusion of two types of cool?
im sure many people would agree that TOS is cool for many reasons. and i keep hearing people say this movie will be cool. but apparently, TOS had a kind of cool that makes it still good today even with bad effects. but wat i wonder is, will this movie have that same kind of cool or a Spiderman, Die Hard, Pirates of the Caribbean cool that lasts five years when cooler special effects are made in a new summer blockbuster? i will admit the effect are cool and will blow away anything we have seen so far. but i also dont doubt that these effects will be out done in a matter of years. give me a story that lasts forever, and u got something. and im not really talking fan service.
and i agree, having the cast sit around saying how wonderful the movie is is like a pickup artist. saying how hansom he is, and how he's a wonderful person. after all of that, u have no idea what's under all that bravado and acidic cologne.

Ok what make something cool will change from year to year. 8 track at one time were cool, so were leg warmers, and parachute pants. As for the interview with the "Stars" of the movie. Think of yourself as a young Mostly unknown Actor, you're in a big budget film they sit you in front of a camera to talk about the film, What would you sad? "yeah i thinkit 'll be ok." Not if you want to work again. It's promo for MTV This clip so sugar coated I almst went into Diabetic shock. I did like the part when they said abbrams is like a 10 yr old kid. But then again do you want a 10 Yr old kid making a movie on on subject that's 40 Yrs old? Great Movies don't Need the latest special effects. They need good character base. Look at Older films Phildelphia Story, Princess Bride. They did have The Latest Special effects. As I've said from the begging This movie is all fluff. It's not "Rebooted" it's Retarded. Take Spock for example In every add he seems the same Pychopath that he is on Heros. That ain't Spock. And consider Kirk From all the Adds, If you were a starfleet ADM. would you hand ove a starship to this kid. I wouldn't give him a Mo-ped! I will admitt that i like things the way they were. I liked starbuck being a guy. I liked the jupiter 2 to being round, Iike the Idea that a blind guy drove the ship. I liked the Idea that an android can't whistle. I do'nt likethe Idea A romulan has an Irish accent. I don't like The Idea that thewhole crew are 20-somethings, I don't like the Idea of the USS Enterprise has been preverted, I don't like the Idea that there are 4 glass panls on the BRidge, (You know someone crashing through one during battle) I hate the fact that you know there will be a space battle. In short Let me sum up by saying this. Abbrams Has done great with LOST! But as far as Star Trek that all that he is. LOST!

I'll be the first one to be verry critic about that movie if JJ is messing up with my beloved Star Trek...
But I thought the movie will be released in may and I guess none of you as actually seen the movie at this point.
So I will only say so far: shut up and wait !

I tried to read Captain Zacary R. Wildstar's comment, but all I could see was "whine, snivel, whimper, sniffle, whine."

Punctuation and proper grammar: Another thing it's a shame not to have. They must not teach that in your fleet academy.
