I don't know, that logo doesn't seem quite EXTREME enough.

By Bones at 12:00 AM ON 02/21/09

The logo is a variation on the font used in the original series. I think it's perfect. The corridor reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey, not Star Trek.

Hey Bones- it IS the font. And did you ever watch a Trek movie? That's what the corridors looked like. Tool.

And the new site stinks too.

By Requiem1971 at 12:36 AM ON 02/21/09

What's the difference??? All I see is side by side instead of stacked. Oh, and they made it chrome instead of white. Bid change--wow!

By Bobanort at 6:24 AM ON 02/21/09

Check out the EXTREME NEW LOGO with *starts to echo* VERTICAL STACKING!!!*echo ends* And with the new iStarship you can hear your favorite mp3s ANYWHERE in the universe!!!

I dunno... that new logo doesn't seem to rock 'n roll.

wow, kinda disappointed. Being in the construction businees I pay attention to detail, just as I think filmakers should. even the most minute of details. Take a look at the bottom of the door frame in panorama A. you can see where the door frame meets the floor the used what looks to be white caulking. I would think with a dark frame, door, and floor, they would have used a dark caulk. that white caulk sticks out like a sore thumb. Your probably saying what? thats no big deal. well yes it is. if they cant pay attention to a small detail like that, a detail that sticks out like a sore thumb that would get put on the final construction punch list every single time a ship like this was built, it makes me wonder what other small, big, or other glaring details they missed. I so want this movie to work, but sometimes it's the little things that tell the tale. guess we'll find out in 2 months. good luck JJ. I have my fingers crossed.

By budgethero at 12:42 PM ON 02/21/09

i reminds me of.... Star Wars. the corridor. the logo reminds me of Transformers.

By Jonathan at 12:48 PM ON 02/21/09

You see white caulking? At that resolution?

I don't see white caulking at all. I see a nice detail of a metal strip running along the edge of the door frame.

By Rob at 6:43 PM ON 02/21/09

They should have just changed the title to NOT STAR TREK. Then it would be right.

By AdmNaismith at 8:39 PM ON 02/21/09

Behold!- the Star Warsification of Star Trek. This is only the beginning, folks.

Cool logo. Does it transform?

What's the purpose of round passageways? What's on the other side of those walls? Do they conceal wiring, piping and hvac trunks? 'cause that sort of thing isn't nearly as visually interesting and eyecatching as a big round white cylindrical passageway. Are we gonna see Scotty tearing one apart to scavenge parts and save the day in a manner that would put MacGyver to shame. No, wait, this Scotty is Simon Pegg who's deepest role to date was The Editor in the new Dr Who. He has eloquent treknobabble lines such as 'Space is fun'...

Double entries - woot.

Hey, 'Bones is a Tool', the original font, like the 'old logo' was angled a couple of degrees to the right.

Perhaps, in keeping with the renaming of the first Trek, they should call this one: ST:POS.

I want to sit down and commiserate with my fellow fans. I’m going to sit here, whining and complaining about a movie that hasn’t even been released yet. Even better, I’m going to wave my “been a Trek fan since Trek existed” flag in your face as a symbol of my arrogance.

Because of tough economic times, I can’t afford Kleenex, so I’ll have to use those uniforms and t-shirts I’ve bought over the last forty years. Be careful of the Klingon ones; they have sharp parts.

What sickens me about these supposed fans is that they continue to preach Trek’s philosophy of diversity and acceptance, yet the instant someone comes on the scene with a new interpretation of a dying franchise, they bring out the big guns of hypocrisy. The explosions aren’t big enough, and the new Kirk isn’t Shatner enough. Cry me a river.

So much for the Roddenberry vision of infinite diversity in infinite combinations; some hypocrites can’t even allow a new view on a classic. Such mindsets are the background behind racism and prejudice, something Trek covered ad nauseam. Perhaps you missed that when you were polishing your comm badge.

By Rob at 1:58 PM ON 02/24/09

Q, you are not even close to being a Star Trek fan. You don't relaize how this movie has spit in Gene Roddenberry's eye. It has nothing to do whatsoever with Roddenberry's vision or ideas of the future. It's just a blurry, sex-filled action film trying to cash in on something that is obviously well beyond your grasp.

i'm not some huge Trek fan, but I've watched the shows and had the toys when I was a little kid. And, I'm sincerely dreading seeing this film. I fully expect it to do to Trek what "Mission Impossible" did to Mission Impossible: take away all the "thinky" and replace it with generous doses of "splodey"

By Terra243 at 12:06 PM ON 02/25/09

@Rob: I wasn't aware that there was some guide somewhere on being a true fan. Can you back up that attack with some form of proof, or are you jsut grasping at straws?

No wonder Trek died... the fans stab each other in the back trying to determine whose manhood is bigger. :(

By Rob at 5:28 PM ON 03/08/09

Well, Terra, if you were a real fan you would've known about the guide, wouldn't you? Now piss off.

I enjoy watching sta trek late at night when no ones around so i can fantasize about being on the ship myself with my fellow class mates and that im the captain and i lead my crew into victory in the B68 hyper space war in Galaxy 57 i speak clingon and have a very tight latex star trek costume which i enjoy wearing when i am having sexual intercourse with my partner Dorothy who also is a very big fan of the star trek series. I sometimes fantasize about marrying many different members of the crew and having sexual relationships with them thank you for your time and i hope u all also fantasiz with me over the glories of star trek
