Three new promotional photos of Hugh Jackman have been released from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, upcoming from 20th Century Fox.

In the prequel film, Jackman returns to his role as an unstoppable fighting machine with amazing healing powers and retractable claws.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine unites the hero with several other stars of the X-Men universe and also features Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan and Ryan Reynolds, as well as Taylor Kitsch, will.i.am and Lynn Collins.

Gavin Hood directs the movie, which opens May 1.
