Shirley Manson, who plays the liquid metal T-1001 Catherine Weaver on Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, told SCI FI Wire that the remaining nine episodes of the season take Weaver out of her familiar corporate setting. Weaver has delegated tasks from her office while Cromartie (Garret Dilahunt) and Ellison (Richard T. Jones) do her bidding. (Spoilers ahead!)
"I got to get out of my office, and I got to do a scene without Richard T. Jones, which is unusual, and we laughed about it," Weaver said in an exclusive interview. "I just felt like I got more to do, and of course that's exciting for me."
So far, Manson said that she still has not shared scenes with cast members Lena Headey (Sarah), Thomas Dekker (John), Summer Glau (Cameron) or Brian Austin Green (Derek). But she has filmed more visual-effects shots, though nothing will top her first appearance as a Terminator morphing out of a men's urinal.
"No, but I get to do some really cool s--t," the former Garbage singer said. "It's so cool. I feel like the plot has really sort of quickened its pace. It's taken a different turn, perhaps, the first half of this season. It's much more action-based, perhaps, than the first half."
As the story develops for Weaver, Manson has been surprised to find out what she will play week to week. "The plot around my character, like, all the plot, to be honest, it takes some extreme turns," she said. "The arc of the character is not what I expected. Let's put it that way. Certainly the second half of the season, there's more for me to do. My character takes some unusual turns, and it's exciting. I really feel really lucky that I've got an amazing role. I can't believe it."
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles moves to a new timeslot, Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, starting Feb. 13.

I can't wait for this show to start up again. It's my favorite after BSG and is much more interesting than the plot-ridden, gimmicky "Lost", which has long lost any interesting drama or ever had any dramatic realism. Terminator may have its problems but it just feels more willing to take chances. It could always improve but I adored the episode by BSG alum Toni Graphia on the librarian's relationship to Cameron, who is hilarious and spooky at the same time. Ditto Garrett Dillahunt.
I hope this show sticks around, but gets rid of the overly self-conscious black guy's religiosity as conscience plot thread; he can be religious, but don't make it out to be so noble or have it be his only defining characteristic.

Self-Made man is maybe the best story in the entire Terminator universe. Cameron is portrayed so human right until the last scene totally shreds it all to pieces again and we get to see what it means to be a machine.
I am more thrilled about the series continuing than the upcoming movie. McG will add little more to the plot than one big battle and a few lines of dialog in between. The real story happens in the series. A 17h season just has so much more time than a 2h movie. That added time makes the narration so much more better and flexible.

"Do her bidding?" Hasn't there been enough of that already? Give Ellison and John Henry decent arcs already, fer chrissakes. I've had enough of Weaver and her forced coolness and no clues as to what she is doing on the show to begin with.
So she still hasn't shot scenes with the Connors. That's great because, 13 episodes into the season, it made no sense that her character didn't even try to look for the Connors, especially with Ellison always hanging around. And now that they're filming the last two episodes, she still hasn't had any scenes with them. I'm thinking the less sense her character makes, the better the odds that they'll just kill her off and do the Skynet story some justice for a change. Anything would be better than this season-long teaser that defies any kind of logic you try to apply to it.
But I suppose Josh Friedman doesn't really worry about his characters making sense, as long as they can take unexpected turns. That's all he's done with them this season.
And it's still all about unusual turns and big deaths. Not much else to look forward to if the recent interviews are anything to go by.
Oh yeah. Please learn to spell Garret Dillahunt's name correctly. It's just not that hard.

Maybe the network wants them to make the show all about vapid characters like Weaver, Jesse and Riley and big mysteries of the week/month/year.
I don't think they ever explained what Cameron's mission was, so why should Weaver be any different? As long as there's action, who cares whether or not the story actually holds up?
Fox certainly doesn't.

Peter, would you like cheese with that whine?

Given the show's ratings, I hope that the producers have filmed an alternate series ending.

^ The ratings expectations are MUCH lower for Fridays

They're hoping that Whedon's "Dollhouse" will help bring the ratings up; but I have to wonder if "Dollhouse" will suffer the same fate as "Firefly" and die after 13 episodes. And what's wrong with Ellison's religiosity? Either it will support the general viewpoint that religion is for the stupid masses, or it will introduce the possibility that maybe there is something to a belief in a higher power.

I love TSCC , and I am hopeful Dollhouse will be a fun show. Unfortunately I seriously doubt whether either of these shows will get anything more then a 4 or 5 share at best. Ghost Whisperer has the 8pm hour locked up and Whedons shows are notorious for being slow starters and that may not work for long in this era of economic downturn. Fox will not want to lower the prices of commercials on Friday nights to support shows that do poorly in the ratings. The only way shows like these 2 can survive is on cable not network channels. I hope I am wrong.

Hmmm Catherine Weaver actually leaving her office to get into more action.... It's a start Josh Friedman, you're off on a good start.
Now let's say we get Cameron to start acting more like a machine rather than simulating human behavior. I know she's supposed to learn from humans, but that doesn't qualify her to become one always keep that in mind. It could be just Summer's acting there but just make sure there's nothing in the script that'll have her begging for her life.... If ya know what I mean.
