Illustrator Dave McKean, who has frequently collaborated with Neil Gaiman and been a conceptual artist on two of the Harry Potter films, created the artwork for a set of six new postage stamps which will be issued by the U.K.'s Royal Mail on June 16.

The Mythical Creatures stamps feature images of a unicorn, a mermaid, a giant, a fairy queen, a pixie and a dragon, all popular creatures from U.K. legends.

During McKean's long working relationship with Gaiman, he has drawn the covers for the comic-book series Sandman, directed the film MirrorMask and provided illustrations for the novel Coraline.
