"First and foremost I want to express my sincere apology for the delay on the Lost Stand Up 2 Cancer Event. Unfortunately production issues on the set in Hawaii have had a considerable impact on the show, and we have been informed that the cast will be unable to fulfill the video portion of the Stand Up 2 Cancer benefit."

Shouldn't be too hard on them until we know what the "production issues" are...that could cover anything from a lost can of film to half the sets being blown over.

Actually they did do the videos,
but the smoke monster ate them!

If that was me and i'd made a promise for a cancer charity unless I was in a coma or stuck on the moon i'd make sure I went through with my part of it.

I'm not real familiar with the show, but from what I gather these people are supposed to be lost on an island, right?? I'm just asking because the second guy from the left looks awful big for someone stranded on an island.

I can understand why they couldn't do it. What if they received 500,000 donations? Are they supposed to make 500,000 personal videos?
It was probably a promise they shouldn't have made in the first place...but any normally sane person can understand why they can't fullfil the commitment.

Hey Bobanort, thanks for commenting when you know absolutely nothing about the show. Way to sate the obvious.

It's been explained in the show. Lost is a bit more than some people stranded on an island.

That is lame. What's wrong with these actors? They made a commitment, they should stick to it. From what I understand, the videos were auctioned off which means their should only be one winner per video. How hard is that to make one video per cast member? Anybody with a cameraphone can film a video message. These actors can't even take 5 minutes to say hi to people who donated money to cure cancer!

Thanks for the explanation Alan, I quit watching after the second episode.
Bub, didn't know I had to watch the show to make a comment. I did have several members of my close family die of myelogenous leukemia (heck, I was in the room with my grandmother and watched her breathe her last from it) if that's anything that qualifies my comment here, since these guys apparently can't stand in front of a camera and thank someone for donating money to cancer research when they promised to. I watched the first couple (2) episodes and lost (pardon the pun) interest quickly.
Floor Ogre, if there were 500,000 auctions that idea might be "sane", but I doubt there were that many auctions. From the website it looks like 1 message per star.
Way to help cancer research. I sure hope none of you get to watch someone you love slowly get taken and all you can do is try to comfort them. I can tell you from personal experience, from 3 family members dying form cancer, that it isn't fun at all. All of a sudden 5 minutes in front of a camera seems like a small thing to do for someone who did something to try to allieviate another's suffering or keep someone else from having to go through that. Shame on them and if you want to defend that behavior then shame on you too.
