Fox is pushing back the release date of Dragonball Evolution by two days, to April 10 from April 8, or to Friday from Wednesday, the studio said.

I still can't believe they made it PG. As if the butchering of the franchise wasn't bad enough. Still, I know I'll be going for some cheap laughs. Then, of course, I'll be crying myself to sleep that night.

i have a bad feeling this movie will be worst than double dragon / van dame's street fighter / and speed racer combined but we shall see

God, I'm going to enjoy watching this film crash and burn in theatres. I wonder if other studios will take it as a sign to ACTUALLY TRY with the other big-budget anime-to-film projects floating around...

There's a big problem in trying to bring stuff like this to the big screen. You've got to "dumb it down" to bring in people that haven't watched every episode or movie 127 times, but keep it close enough to the original material so as not to turn off the fanboys. I'm just not sure this one struck that balance. I can appreciate the effort, but I just don't see this one succeeding.

*SPOILER ALERT* (maybe)
I'm an American expat living in Korea and this movie came out a few weeks ago and I saw it on opening day. Basically, the movie was slightly worse than the original street fighters movie, but it did have better graphics.

Neutral to positive:
The movie starts out respectable as Goku has some humor to him, which was completely lost in the trailers. ChiChi is hot. Cinematic colors and "real world" atmosphere is like from a teen high school movie. Very funny super speed fighting where the head doesn't move. Dialoge is par to sub-par, except piccolo who sucked.

Just plain bad.
Picolo had almost no lines. Characters had little to no chemistry with each other. Comedy was lost at the end with the fight scenes looking like they were just slapped on there. Story line also seemed last minute after Goku "hero journey" begins.

Final verdict: Given the chance, I wouldn't even download it illegally....

I am glad that they are releasing it on the same day as a movie with an absolutely monster following, Hannah Montana. This will only accelerate the rate at which DBE decays in the box office.
