Elias Koteas told SCI FI Wire that he's completed principal photography on the upcoming film The 4th Kind, written and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi (WIthIN).

The movie is shrouded in mystery and currently being referred to as a thriller. In the story, people have been inexplicably vanishing from an Alaska town, prompting accusations of a coverup.

Koteas stars in the film with Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) and Will Patton; Jovovich plays a woman investigating the disappearances.

"I play a therapist, a friend of Milla's character," Koteas said in a recent interview while promoting his latest film, the March 27 release The Haunting in Connecticut. "It's based on a true story, from what I understand, of these happenings up in Alaska, these disappearances. There were supposedly these abductions. I don't want to give too much away, but it's never been proven and it's never been solved, these disappearances."

Koteas added, "This director is a terrific guy and very creative. He knows what he's doing, and he wrote a great script, a smart script. He blends in real time with the past and with 'actual' footage of the events. So you have actors re-creating the actual people. They kind of intermix together. The script itself just raises the hair on your whole body, man. It sends chills, because it's happening, and you don't know what to believe at the end of day. It was a great experience. We shot it in Bulgaria, and I have a lot of hopes for that. I'm excited to see it, because the script was so dynamite."
