Well, with FPJ starring, it's sure to be a hit. No, kidding aside, I give it three airings tops.

What a coincidence! I just got through watching The Tick over at crackle.com, which seems to have a similar premise. Full disclosure: I liked The Tick.

Nothing against FPJ but.... He seems more like a supporting player than a lead. He's just never been able to carry a movie, imo. I hope this is good but based on the cast and the premise, sounds like it'll be a dud. Hope I'm wrong though.

How insular is the average American viewer that not only must they not be allowed to see the original version of a TV show, but a science fiction news site reporting about it can't even bother to mention that it's a remake of a British show?

On that note: get your hands on the original. It's a cracker, and if it's like most shows that get Yankified it's bound to be much better than its clone.

I watched all six of the originals and they were wonderful. If they can do justice to this show to the level that is was done for a British convert like "The Office," we should be okay. I have to hold out hope.

Does it matter that it's a remake?

Prince isn't the lead. If you've seen the british version, you know that the character he plays is the nemisis of the lead.

I thought the orginal was funny as hell. I hope they do it justice.

Considering how ABC's last British genre remake went (Life on Mars), I'm not having real high hopes for this. Plus, I didn't think the original was all that great to begin with. Cute idea, but definitely not something I can see going the distance. It's different in the UK where you can make 6 episodes and be done, but having to do 13-22 a season here.. it's gonna get old quick. Either way (just like Life on Mars), I'll still watch it... lol.

If the show doesn't work, FBJ can go back to his other job writing for the WWE!

I've seen the original as well, and from the sound of it FPJ is going to be Excellsor, or at least that type of character. I'm not bying it. Plus, the British show is great. Don't think it could be done much better.
