Even supervillains could use a little change they can believe in, something Superman's biggest foe proved today by groveling over at Funny or Die, the comedy video website founded by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.
In the video, Lex Luthor, as portrayed by Golden Globe-award-winning Mad Men star Jon Hamm, appeals for Lexcorp to be given a $100 billion bailout, thanks to all the troubles caused by "you know who."

What an interesting take on Lex Luthor. But he's definitely no Michael Rosenbaum, not enough clout of self-assuredness or influential savvy. He's words weren't even charismatic enough to sway my notion of creditability. But then, I know this skit was only a fun take on the seriousness of Lex’s ponderance of his over dominant stature. In that objective view, he broke even. Anyone remember when $100 billion seemed like an absurd amount of money? Guess that was all in the age before trillion dollar deficits.

Damn, I wish that the bald cap was worked on better, but other than that, I'm ready to see someone play Lex in whatever superman film they decide to do.
Very hilarious, down to the horrible capers Lex decided to mention in his plea.

Thank you Superman for fixing the credit crunch. Also John Ham was funny but I vote for Billy Vane for Lex in the next film.

I'd say there's more Don Draper in this than Lex, but this was funny. Hamm had a turn as an SNL host I think this past fall or spring and definitely has sketch comedy chops.
