Matt Damon finalizing deal to star in Philip K. Dick's Adjustment Bureau

Matt Damon finalizing deal to star in Philip K. Dick\'s \<em\>Adjustment Bureau\<\/em\>

Universal is finalizing a deal with Media Rights Capital for the film The Adjustment Bureau, which would star Matt Damon in a contemporary love story with sci-fi overtones loosely based on a Philip K. Dick story, reported Variety.

In the original 1954 short story "Adjustment Team," a real estate salesman found that his world was really a soundstage under the control of mysterious overlords, but in the film, Damon's character will instead be a charismatic congressman apparently destined for national political stardom. Once he meets a beautiful ballet dancer, strange circumstances will conspire to keep them apart.

The Adjustment Bureau is to be written and directed by George Nolfi, who previously worked with Damon as the screenwriter of The Bourne Ultimatum.
