Twilight DVD sells a whopping 3M copies in its first day
Summit Entertainment said more than 3 million DVDs of Twilight jumped off store shelves in its first day of release on Saturday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Twilight sales rank among the top five best-selling DVD titles of the past two years, the trade paper reported. The film also did well in its theatrical run, having taking in $373 million in worldwide box-office receipts.
Two Twlight sequels have been announced: New Moon, set for a Nov. 20 release, and Eclipse, recently scheduled for a June 30, 2010, opening. All three are based on the best-selling novels by Stephenie Meyer.

Highlander remake just makes me shudder because I actually liked the original and loathed Highlander: The Source and most of the new and inconsistent stuff.
As for Twilight, I guess there's no accounting for taste but there are so many better young adult stories out there with supernatural protagonists who DON'T promote abusive relationships (And this usually results in 'He only bruised her in the last book!' and other comments that disgust the feminist in me).

OMG I'm not a teen girl and I ran to the store to get this movie. I'm so glad it's finally on DVD so that I can watch it time and time again. Did you know that 11/2/09 the new New Moon is coming out? OM I so can't wait....check out this site for the Twilight screensaver
