Watch an exclusive clip from SCI FI's new Warehouse 13

We've got the exclusive new clip from SCI FI Channel's upcoming series Warehouse 13.

Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly and Saul Rubinek star in the one-hour dramedy, about two Secret Service agents who find themselves abruptly transferred to Warehouse 13: a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota that houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by the U.S. government.

Warehouse 13 is slated to debut in July.

Disgust... rising...

Dave Simkins, back when you worked on Dresden Files I thought better of you...

By Mandy at 1:29 AM ON 03/21/09

I like David Simkins. I just don't like what he's doing here. I just hope the pilot script is better than the one I saw. It was like Friday the 13th the series with some stolen Dresden Files elements.

By styfly in my eye always makes me cry at 5:11 AM ON 03/21/09

Isnt this more of a ripoff of the X Files than anything?

By Michael R. at 7:36 AM ON 03/21/09

I'm not sure why you people are crediting this show to Dave Simkins? He may be a producer, but the Creator and man in charge is Rockne S. O'Bannon and I for one think that he has earned my trust. Farscape is one of my favourite shows ever and I am really looking forward to loving this one too.

I'm just glad that it's not the reverse where X number of things have escaped from Warehouse 13 and t hey track them down week to week. Been there, done that a million times since Friday the 13th the series to Brimstone.. Of course there's Sanctuary, which is the reverse of Brimstone also

By Mandy at 1:18 PM ON 03/21/09

No, Sty. They're trying to make it resemble X-files and mislead you with the advertising, much like when Dresden Files' trailers made it resemble Law and Order (which made me almost misout on what was a great but short lived show). When you actually see the pilot of Warehouse 13, assuming it's the same as the script I read, there are no skeptics, at least not for long. The two main characters aren't out to prove or disprove anything. They know the supernatural exists pretty quickly in the story. And it's more supernatural stuff than alien stuff. The two main characters out to retrieve these artifacts are more like the two characters of Friday the thirteenth the series only instead of an antique shop there's a warehouse. Then there's this subplot about a sardonic, lecherous ghost bound to a wallet which is pretty much the Bob character of The Dresden Files only younger and bound to a wallet instead of a skull. Also it has one Dresden writer and two members of it's cast.

So no, not X-files, but still borrowing (cough) from other sources.

By Jason at 2:13 PM ON 03/21/09

This preview actually makes me pretty excited to see this show. Looks like it balances the mystery aspect of the show with some decent humor. And if Rockne S. O'Bannon is heavily involved, it must be at least watchable.

By Mandy at 2:29 PM ON 03/21/09

Just remember, they're trying very hard to make you like it. The aggressive marketing campaign for Warehouse 13 all goes along with the name change. They want you to like this. You HAVE to like Warehouse 13. 'It's not enough that you obey, Big Brother. You must love him.' They want this to be their new flagship show.

The show might be great. I'm just bitter for all the stuff they're 'borrowing' from. I read the pilot script and I won't deny it had some very good point. The beginning was a little bland but it picks up pace pretty quickly when they actually get to the warehouse. but I have little trust or faith in the Scifi Channel.

By yeahyeah at 3:19 PM ON 03/21/09

yes, shockingly a network made a TV show and they want you to like it. how awful of them. i can't believe the idiocy of it all.

i'm also shocked to see Mandy bring up the Dresden Files in a Warehouse 13 topic. what are the odds?

By Mandy at 3:29 PM ON 03/21/09

Yeahyeah, it's unavoidable if you seriously discuss Warehouse 13. One writer, two cast members and a 'borrowed' plot device. I'm not going to call it's predecessor by the 'show that must not be named' just to appease you. There are only three things that make me bring up The Dresden Files: the programming of 2007 and the mention of Warehouse 13, and mention of the show or books within the article. I was a fan of the show and am a fan of the books. If you can't accept it, don't read my comments when it's relevant to what's being discussed.

And they don't just want this show to succeed. They need for it to be their big new hit. And you missed my point. I'm bitter about what the network is doing to itself, particularly the name and content change.

By yeahyeah at 3:43 PM ON 03/21/09

It's very avoidable and preferable IMO. I can accept you're a fan, I'm just tired of seeing Dresden discussed in so many threads on this news site, and most of them are by you. We all know you're obsessed with the show, but please tone it down once in a while. If you can.

Of course, shame on for bothering to engage on the topic, so I'll stop. I'm very much looking forward to Warehouse and love the new promo. Good job show folks!

By Mandy at 3:58 PM ON 03/21/09

I am NOT going to avoid mentioning a show when it's directly related to the topic of the article. This show has two actors, a writer and plot device from The Dresden Files. It also borrows heavily from Friday the 13th the series. I don't bring it up on all the articles. Just articles where it's relevant. Example: Warehouse 13, short lived scifi shows of 2007, and actual mention of the books or show.

Haven't you noticed there are certain people who bring up Farscape at EVERY turn? No, you're too busy singling me out for personal attacks, which go against the rules here. Why single me out? Again, if it's on topic, I will not avoid it and to order me to do so is just rude.

I like The Dresden Files. I am not obsessed with it. It's not my fault they're recycling Dresden content, actors and writers for Warehouse 13.

The show that currently has me fascinated is Being Human from BBC 3 (soon to be on BBC America). The only problem is that it, it's actors, and crew, have not been brought up on Scifi Wire so I have little reason to mention it in my comments. If they start talking about things in relation to Being Human I'll leave comments talking about Being Human.

I noticed, 'Yeahyeah' that you only turn up on Warehouse 13 articles and in response to me and you make assumptions about my posting content meaning you don't read much more on Scifi Wire other than stuff about Warehouse 13. I don't exactly bring up Dresden Files on the Twilight articles or Jetsons DVD article or the consistant Remakes being talked about here. So, you single me out, you only post on Warehouse 13 articles, you ignore any post I make that does NOT mention Dresden Files (and my comments are thoroughly peppered through this site)... Seems a bit obsessive if you ask me. That's the pot calling the kettle black. Go antagonize a Farscape fan. There are dozens on the name change thread. Most of us real science fiction and fantasy fans are bitter about the death of the real Scifi Channel. Can you let us grieve without attempting to pick an argument or start personal attacks?

By SweetPuck at 4:12 PM ON 03/21/09

If a person is a fan of something and it ends abruptly of course they are going to talk about it. And the 'SyFy' channel ARE a bunch of morons for canceling it Dresden Files. I loved the show and still do and if they brought it back I might end my boycott of the channel. I simply will not watch the crap they are trying to pass off on us.

By yeahyeah at 5:38 PM ON 03/21/09

Oddly enough when I go to a story about Warehouse 13 (which I'm interested in) I'm looking for a thoughtful discussion about Warehouse 13, not someone who every single time the topic comes up says they don't think it will be good and that they'd rather see the Dresden Files. Hey, one or two comments? Great. But *every time* the show is mentioned? It's obnoxious, there is really no reason for it, and it's absolutely obsessive.

Am I obsessed with this topic? Yeah, a little, because I'm tired of the Mandy Spam that I see every time I go to read about this show and I'm not afraid to point out that, really , it's annoying and more than a little weird.

If a single Farscape fan posted on EVERY Warehouse 13 thread in the same way, I'd say something about them too.

By Chan at 6:07 PM ON 03/21/09

Never caught the Dresden Files, and I'd skip this one but for two things:

1) Rockne O'Bannon. I really enjoyed Farscape.
2) This warehouse is in South Dakota, where I reside. It might be moderately interesting to see how they depict it. Hopefully far better than HBO's 'Deadwood'.. That was pure fancy. But, what do you expect? It's called Fiction for a reason.

By Mandy at 6:14 PM ON 03/21/09

It's not spam if it's on topic, yeahyeah. My first post was disappointment because I expect better of David Simkins, whom has worked on both.

By Mandy at 6:20 PM ON 03/21/09

And it's no coincidence this article immediately followed an article that was spin control over the change to Syfy...

By Shiraziel at 10:04 PM ON 03/21/09

After viewing this ridiculously underwhelming clip, I have only one word as a comment that sums up my 'excitement' regarding this supposedly 'new' show (that has basically been done many times before and much better...)..... "Yawn!"

By theKRELL at 2:19 PM ON 04/08/09
