We've got an exclusive video interview with Joanne Kelly, one of the stars of SCI FI Channel's upcoming Warehouse 13.
Kelly stars with Eddie McClintock and Saul Rubinek in the one-hour dramedy, about two Secret Service agents who find themselves abruptly transferred to Warehouse 13: a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota that houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by the U.S. government.
We spoke with Kelly at SCI FI's upfront presentation to advertisers and the media in New York earlier this month. Warehouse 13 is slated to debut in July.

Pros and cons.
Pro: I loved Joanne Kelly as the vampire, Bianca, in The Dresden Files. It's so weird hearing her talk with her natural accent. Her voice is so much smoother when she was playing Bianca. This character doesn't much use her natural speaking voice either. My friend, Chrissy, loved Bianca, the vampire, so much that she made a youtube shipper video of Bianca and Dresden. I think she took it down though.
Con: Warehouse 13 still hasn't entirely hooked my attention. I admit the script for the pilot isn't horrible but most of it is revamped stuff I've seen before in Friday the 13th the series and The Dresden Files. And to be honest I'd rather see her play Bianca again. That was one interesting vampire. Scifi could easily make a made for TV movie just about that character. It certainly would be more interesting to me than Twilight.

I was wondering what happened to this chick. I didn't know she had light hair, but I guess the only thing I saw her on was Dresden Files. Still a really pretty woman. Maybe I'll check it out if she's in it.

SweetPuck, Warehouse 13 also has the man who played Kimarni and David Simkins (one of Dresden's main writers). I wouldn't be so bothered by it if it didn't feel like a rehashing of Friday the 13 the series with a few Dresden Files elements in it. And I don't just mean the actors and writer. This whole deal with Sam, the snarky ghost bound to a wallet (whom exists in the pilot script). What was going through their heads when they came up with him? 'Well, Bob was cool in Dresden Files but Terrence Mann is kind of up there in age. Let's make him younger and attach him to a wallet! That makes him easier to carry! Certainly less icky than a skull! We could reel in the displaced Dresden Files fans with this!' It feels a little insulting to me as a fan of The Dresden Files and as a fan of Terrence Mann. Also I had liked Friday the 13th the series when it was on the air and I noticed Scifi has stopped even occasionally airing the reruns of Friday the 13th the series, which they used to air every Friday the 13th, at least (and back in the nineties on thier Friday Nights: Descents into Darkness with She-Wolf of London).
I'll TRY to give this show a chance. I did go out of my way to read the pilot script after all. But what I read just wasn't that great, though there were some funny bits once they actually get to the warehouse.

Yeah, it does seem like they are trying to give us Dresden Files without actually giving it to us. I'll give it a chance though, all I saw was a snippet of it a while back. I wasn't too impressed by what I saw, but hey, I wasn't real impressed when people were telling me about Dresden Files the first time either, but when I finally saw it I love it so... who knows.

A big difference is Warehouse 13 is getting an aggressive marketing campaign because Scifi hopes to make it Syfy's new flagship show whereas Dresden Files' advertising was poor, at best. I was going to avoid The Dresden Files, myself. The trailers for it made it look like some cheesy Night Stalker style show. And after having seen that really awful remake of Night Stalker with Stuart Townsend (whom ruined my favourite literary vampire in Queen of the damned) I had no interest. As a result I nearly missed out on something great with The Dresden Files. They advertised it all wrong. The commercials I had seen never said he was a wizard or that he lived with a ghost portrayed by one of my favourite Broadway actors. And even with really bad advertising The Dresden Files did pretty well (Third highest rated show on the Scifi Channel for 2007). So why wasn't it continued again? Oh, yes, that's right. Most of us fans were female and t the time they wanted males for Dresden Files so they could boast that Battlestar Galactica was bringing in the female viewers. I forgot. For a moment I thought there was a sane reason as to why we fans were treated so badly.

I don't know. I will give this show a chance, cause everything deserves a chance.
But... it seems like a less-fun, less-personal rip-off of "Friday the 13th: The Series".
And: Can't anyone just get along any more? Immediately there is "tension" and "angst" between the characters. Sheesh... No body just LIKES any body any more.

Wings, it's ye ol' plot device of animosity / building love-hate friendship and sexual tension.
As I've said before about this show, in quoting David Bowie's Fashion 'It's loud and it's tasteless and I've heard it before.'
And yes, it's a LOT like Friday the 13th the series with a few Dresden Files elements.

Really looking forward to this show. Love her description of it.

Very much sounds like Friday the 13th the series...Unless they can wrap something else around the show. The idea of retrieving an item a week is gonna grow a bit tad old with me.
Granted...since I'm older now and i've been around there will be ppl who haven't see Friday the 13th Series so it might seem new to them.
Unless there's maybe a competing organization...Warehouse 51? lol . most likely will see that somewhere along the way. If it makes it past season 1.

I'll give it a couple of episodes. Not extremely excited by the premise or the players. But maybe something will grab me. Or either there wont be anything else on tv to watch.

I wonder if scifi purchased the rights from the makers of GURPS for the title "Warehouse 13". This was the title of a whole book of items stockpiled in the warehouse you saw at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark to be used in the RPG GURPS universe.

Isn't this the series based off of the AREA 52 comics?
