So freakin awsone that he is playing Bellie or Belly. Couldn't have picked a better person. I am so psyched. Can't wait,

This is MASSIVELY cool. And I know no one will believe that I didn't intend that pun, but I swear, it just happened that way! Still, Nimoy coming in as a heavy in such a great show...! Holy geek-gasms, Batman! Can you imagine the electricity when he and Noble have their first scene together? A Bell-Bishop confrontation might rival those incredible G'Kar-Londo scenes in B5! This is just STUPID cool!

I can't believe how lame Nimoy is. He was slagging off "Star Trek: Voyager" for being without any heart or humanitarian meaning (for which it should have been criticized), but then he jumps on the J.J. bandwagon? Just because J.J. and his crappy Transformers writers are better at superficial story-telling with a focus on action than Berman and Braga doesn't make it any more acceptable, Mr. Nimoy.

He's just lovin' the fame. That's illogical and petty, Mr. Spock.

Yeah, superficial story-telling... Wow. Have you actually seen any J.J. Abrams shows? Brilliant story-telling. I'm not saying they are all deep episodes, but for heaven's sakes, I dare you to predict the superficial endings to his shows and projects. Guy has a knack for a cohesive, interesting, storyline that twists more than an Italian highway. The only other person I find better than him in visionary terms is Bryan Fuller (First season of Heroes and Pushing Daisies).

Of course, some people may just not recognize what a story is that has more substance than explosions and sluty housewives...

when are people going to stop whining? Abrams' crew has so far mad so pretty good entertainment and I am pleased with their product. Why can't All you caffe-mocha-latte, macbook artsy fartsie snobs go to your coffee house beatnik poetry readings if you are looking for "art" and leave those of us who just want to have some fun alone?

correcting my above mistype:

"Abrams' crew has so far made some pretty good entertainment..."

@Muldfeld...Get a life. Mr. Nimoy certainly deserves whatever praise and adoration fans give him. At his age he is blessed to have not only a prolific career but a dedicated fanbase and still the energy to work at his age. Very few 'retired" actors can boast of this and if this means that Nimoy finds gratification in doing a certain individual's work over others then Ces't la Vie. Could there possibly be something that he sees in the work that you don't? I certainly think so, afterall I am sure you haven't been a on the scene witness to the behind the scenes of any Star Trek production unlike Mr. Nimoy who knows the people of Trek on a first name basis. He has not only been an actor but a director and producer and more importantly friend to the downtrodden and voice for those whose voice would have gone unheard. Don't believe me? Pick up Grace Whitney's book and read her story of how his compassion quite possibly saved her life. His is a life that is better than your smarmy critique.

@zen: "when are people going to stop whining?"

We're talking about fans and the Internet, right? I'm going to go with never.

By zen at 1:00 AM ON 05/01/09

@Kelson.
only too true.

If we could somehow harness all the energy of whining of internet 'fans' we could permanently get off fossil fuels forever.
