ABC will promote its upcoming sci-fi series Flash Forward in the 100th episode of Lost next week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The trade paper quoted anonymous sources for the report. The spots won't explicitly refer to the upcoming sci-fi show, which is based on a book by Robert J. Sawyer.
The mystery spots are said to be part of an elaborate marketing campaign for the drama, which has not been officially picked up to series but is quietly being positioned on ABC's schedule for next season.
From the moment in September that the spec script by filmmaker David S. Goyer and Star Trek veteran Brannon Braga landed at ABC with a series commitment, the project has been considered a perfect companion for Lost, which airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

I can only hope that the show is better than the book. That was one of the most boring books I have ever read: suck wasted potential.

Well I hope the show is fantastic as well, but you've obviously never read sci fi chrchton007. Just because it doesn't go boom and instead stops and makes you think doesn't make it bad, it just means you... well you actually have to think about it. And Sawyer is one of those authors who is much better at making you think about big issues- say in Calculating God- than he is at writing action stories that hand you the authors beliefs on a plate.
But yes, by all means write more action into the show so it appeals to the dumbed down television audiences so it avoids being killed off like so many other great shows

I actually just got done readling this a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed the story because it really got me thinking about the impact to society as a result of a Flash Forward. But that ending left me flat. It was as if the ending was done just to be a "sci-fi" thing. I would have been happier without it.

I also just finished reading this book. I found it very thought provoking as well as intriguing. I was constantly wondering what I would do in that position. I did enjoy the fact that the future is not immutable but flexible. And the ending did seem a little off, much like the Life on MArs ending. Just lacked something I can't quite put my finger on. But a great read and hopefully will make a suspenseful series.

I read some of Sawyer's books a few years ago, including Forward, and I always believed that he could write a very good Star Trek book or movie...
