Rick Nicita's Morgan Creek is near a green light on Passengers, a new sci-fi romance movie starring Keanu Reeves, Variety reported.

The movie takes place in the future, as a spacecraft is transporting people to colonize a distant planet. Because of a malfunction, a single passenger (Reeves) is awakened 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he awakens a beautiful woman.

Jon Spaihts wrote the script, which is being developed by producers Reeves and Stephen Hamel. Robinson is also producing.

Oh, yeah--that story. It was in an old 1950's E.C. comic. Only the man wakes up women, woos and then kills them. He then wakes up another woman who ends up killing him, telling him as he's dying that her boyfriend and she will be kings of the colony. Of course, she doesn't know that he's killed every other male on the ship in their sleep tubes.

If it's the same story, than why you just give away the major plot twist?

I love Sci fi and the movies Keanu Reeves has been in but if this is a Romance film i wonder why they chose Keanu Reeves ... UI think all of his romantic/sexy scenes with women are poorly acted... I did like the lakehouse though.. So Im willing to give him some slack and hope this turns out to be another sci fi great
