Kyle Gallner is moving from The Haunting in Connecticut to A Nightmare on Elm Street, New Line and Platinum Dunes' reboot of the long-running horror franchise, Variety reported.
The report confirms news first posted on Bloody-Disgusting.
Gallner will play Quentin, one of the lead teens in the movie, which stars Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) as the iconic child killer Freddy Krueger.
Samuel Bayer helms the redo from Wesley Strick's script. Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing; John Rickard co-produces.
Gallner stars Fox Atomic's upcoming comedy thriller Jennifer's Body, penned by Diablo Cody.

I really love Kyle Gallner. He's an awesome actor!! I know I'm not nearly as mature as the first poster that made the "queer" remark but I'll just keep trying. By the way he's been in alot more thing's then Smallville you moron.

This could be interesting! I enjoyed the first couple of Nightmare movies when I was a teen, and Freddie has always been one of my favorite movie monsters. Jackie Earle Haley as Freddie... I can't wait to see it, I REALLY enjoyed him as the unmasked Rorschach in The Watchmen.
