[Update: The Hollywood Reporter is now saying Schwarzenegger has been secretly working with McG to insert a digitally enhanced version of himself into the movie. A body-cast mold of Schwarzenegger, created when he first appeared as the muscle-ripped cyborg, provided the basis for a digital-effects version of his character. The figure appears in Terminator Salvation as a living, breathing actor. Schwarzenegger viewed the resulting footage and gave his go-ahead just in time for McG to include the footage before the helmer completes his cut of the movie.]
In the latest "will he or won't he" report, the Los Angeles Times quotes California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger as saying he may in fact appear in McG's upcoming Terminator Salvation.
That is, if he doesn't actually have to do it himself.
Let's clarify: Warner Brothers is reportedly exploring whether it can insert images of Schwarzenegger from the original Terminator movie into the new film as the original T-800 cyborg.
Schwarzenegger told blogger Bill Bradley, who asked some questions of his own and others submitted via Twitter, that he had met with the director and agreed to be in the movie as long as he didn't have to perform.
"I made it very clear that I don't have the time to do the movie," Schwarzenegger reportedly said. "I said that I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together, and so they are working on that right now."
We've previously reported that it's possible Schwarzenegger's visage could be digitally imposed on the body of another actor or that his face could appear in some other way.
Stay tuned ... Terminator Salvation opens May 21.

People, people . . . The Terminator is not about the Terminators or even SkyNET . . it's about John Connor. Enough about Arnold's presence or absence from the movie. Get over it already!

Put Swarzenegger in! I dont care if its for a second. I just like the fact that even though hes the gov., he is still open to go back to his roots unlike other hollywood heavyweights.
Just make the movie 'R'. Release 2 versions in the theaters if they have to. I'm a big boy - I can take it.

I knew scifi would be posting something like this soon.
At least Arnold is still in it in some way. Just wonder how John is going to react this time. He going to be all shocked and hesitate so the machine can take him out, or is he going to shoot the machine first then act shocked.

This will suck beyond all recognition..Some movies need that unrestricted R rating. This is one of those films. Instead we're getting another run of the mill kiddie friendly explosion fest. This is not a bonified Terminator movie..Hack directors like McG that compromise their films just to get more butts into seats doesn't fly well with me. I'm going to keep my money and hold out for the (hopefully) edit free unrated version on blu ray...if there will be one and I'm quite sure there will be.

He's in it, he's not in it, he's whatever. Bored now. I just wanna see the movie and I don't care if the governator is in it or not. The movie isn't about him, anyway.

Why don't they do a social experiment with Terminator Salvation. Release a PG-13 & a R rated version in the theaters a see what fans want to see? We all know the unrated DVD sales blows a way the Theatrical versions....
