In the movie, directed by Robert Schwentke from a screenplay by Bruce Joel Rubin, Clare has been in love with Henry her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated.

Henry is a time traveler—cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan with no control. Despite the fact that Henry's travels force them apart with no warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love.

I loved the book! Can't wait for the movie!

Don't know if anyone's pointed this out before but the plot seems to borrow generously from an Outer Limits episode starring Jon Cryer, "Vanishing Act," that originally aired in 1996.

"Billy Pilgrim has become unstuck in time."

I've been hearing about this film for a couple of years now and I got to say it's not what I expected. Seems like a good date film tough.

This was a fantastic book -- I'm always skeptical about movies based on books I love. The story rarely fares well.

Yes, NMP, it appears someone (the author of the book this is based on and the screenwriter) has been reading their Vonnegut. This does sound suspiciously like "Slaughterhouse Five."

By Kelson at 11:17 PM ON 04/20/09

The description isn't quite accurate. It's different from Slaughterhouse Five in that the main character actually physically travels from one time to another, out of control, sometimes even meeting his past or future selves. It's not just his mind experiencing his life out of order.

Finally.. some news! It's been so long since anything new has surfaces that I could have sworn the project was dropped (it nearly was, btw, thanks to the writer's strike). I'll be there opening nite.
