Not having an R rating isn't that big of a deal. Can't really think of a reason why the 3rd was R... I guess I'd like to have it grittier and more real but oh well... anything they had to cut out to make PG 13 wouldn't make the difference between a good movie or a bad one.

The difference between R an P-13 is the amount of swearing and female nudity. Also it will be easier to justify licensing toys and games.

Enough for me not to see this movie in the cinema. If they are willing to compromise the francise for some extra viwers, they need to know they will also loose some audience and angry fans.

Eh while I would have liked it to be R , I would rather it be slightly toned down but make a lot of money so they go through with the other 2 movies. T3 even with Arnie didn't do killer business in the US for a movie that cost them 200 million or so to make and advertise so at PG13 you can be sure alot of young teens that went to Batman will want to see Bale kick some Terminator ASSSS. I seriously think this will be a real good movie.

Weak! "it will be easier to justify licensing toys and games"? Weak!
This is not Transformers - it's Terminator for cryin' out loud!!
Now that I've calmed down... yes, it does make good business sense. I just hope the story is okay.

It didn't help Die Hard 4. I don't think it will help Terminator Salvation either. I was really excited for it, but I guess I'll wait now.

the dark knight was pg13 and im fairly certain that that movie was pretty dark and gritty....and it sounds like they only cut out moon bloodgoods tits...which while nice to see....wont make or break the movie.and die hard 4 was pretty good.who knows they could make an r rated version for dvd.

I think I'll skip this neutered Terminator. It's a shame directors compromise their films for the sake of the MPAA or the distributors. I also wish people would stop using The Dark Knight as a comparison as to why ratings doesn't matter. The Dark Knight was expected to be PG-13. This is Terminator for Gods sake. The Terminator showing the actual war. It needs to be a hard R to show the brutality and bloody mayhem. What a waste.

People have to remember that the ratings system of today is not as tough as it was when the last 3 movies came out. One person said that they didnt know why T3 was rated R and I have to agree.
I also find it funny that most people are getting up in arms over a PG 13 rating when the movie isnt even out yet. How the hell can you make a judgement on a movie without ever having watched it? Is it because you believe that someone told that the movie would suck with an R rating? Make decisions for yourself and stop being sheep.
By logirandy at 4:59 PM ON 04/17/09
It will suck because there is just so much violence you can show in a PG-13 film. Also the ratings system has hardly changed at all since the last 3 movies were released. T1 and T2 would STILL be rated R if released today. This is the Terminator film we've all been waiting for and they go and sanitize it for all the kids just to fill the seats. The MPAA is one of the last forms of censorship in this country and should be dismantled.

well howwpoww i wish people would stop jumoing to conclusions about things sucking before we see them....looks like we both wont get wat we want.

I have a hunch Salvation WILL be dissapointing. Why? You cant make an end of the world apocalyptic movie where humans are being exterminated and make it PG-13. That is so stupid. They are trying to make a movie using an R rated plot and delute it using PG elements. That is like trying to do a hardcore porn movie rated R. It just doesent make sense and no one watching will be satisfied. I am tired of watching all these PG-13 mediocre movies where the action falls short because the studio doesent want to put any violence that could offend minors and hope they can fill all available seats in the theaters.
