Sneak peek at the trailer for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
The French movie site Allocine has posted the first look at the trailer for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which you can watch after the jump.
The movie, based on the Hasbro line of toys, is directed by Stephen Sommers and stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston (pictured above), Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung Hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Saïd Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Dennis Quaid. The full trailer debuts tomorrow, and the movie opens Aug. 7.

Accelerating suits? Are you kidding me? What's the GI Joe fun in that? Having the director of "The Mummy" do things seems like a terrible idea; my mother rented it and we couldn't get past the first 10 minutes because it was so bad. I also wanna hear Cobra Commander's voice!

Those suits would have looked pretty cool had the technology been around for use in "Starship Troopers"

The action looks great, but Van Helsing was unbearable. So I'm taking a wait-and-see approach to this one.

For what it's worth, Mudfield, the 'accelerator suits' would've been more plausible as some sort of Cobra/MARS technology assigned to a special viper unit. In the later years of the original continuity, Cobra technology got really out. moving past the real life Land Warrior systems on the drawing table by several technological generations. They don't seem to be a fixture for the movie though, more like a one off gadget here.
Anyway, now you know, and knowing is....

As for the trailer, I prefer my current G.I. Joe "Resolute." Wonder if Hasbro's going to do with G.I. Joe the same thing they've now aborted with Transformers: a movie line and a separate animated line, though the G.I. Joe Resolute ain't exactly for kids.

Muldfeld, I hate to break it to you, but you DID har Cobra Commander's voice! That was actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt (the kid from "Angels in the Outfield" and "3rd Rock from the Sun") who said "The world will never forget" near the start of the trailer. He's playing Cobra Commander in the movie.

First don't be so pessimistic. Looks like a great action flick. if we continue to have such strict expectations of Hollywood they will continually disappoint us, so lighten up and just watch a movie for what it is entertainment.
As per the voice os Cobra Commander maybe this is going to be prior to the voice problems he used to have. It is not a deal breaker for me. Have fun guys and YO JOE!!!

I'll take it as a good pop corn movie. For me going in with low expectations works.
