Our sister site DVICE has posted a story about this webcam patterned after Star Trek's U.S.S. Enterprise.
Perched atop a bendable gooseneck, this 720p USB webcam even has lighted nacelles that let you know when you're in touch with Starfleet Command.

Hey look! It's REAL Star Trek! Yes, THAT'S what the Enterprise NCC-1701 looked like all the way until it's refit in TMP. Unreal how many people will argue that fact.

Nice camera. I doubt it will have much power. One continuity question (not a nit-picking complaint... just a question): Why did the designers use the Next Generation symbol on a classic Trek item?

One explanation of 40th anniversary cgi remastering Enterprise differences as of WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE:
"Along with remastered video and audio, the all-CGI animation of the USS Enterprise that is standard among the revisions was used. This CGI Enterprise, however, matched the model used for the pilot episodes. Notable differences included "antennae" sticking out of the front of the two warp nacelles, (where the post-pilot Enterprise had translucent hemispheres over rotating colored lights), a taller bridge dome, and larger deflector dish." - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_No_Man_Has_Gone_Before
