I'm glad to see so many actors from SG-1 guesting on SGU. It should provide a nice sense of continuity. Hopefully, some of the SGA cast will show up on SGU as well.

I'm sure fans of the show are glad about this but as a guy that really didn't like either of the previous shows and was hoping to give this one a chance, this isn't encouraging. The series has gotten too into itself, it needs to step back and get a new approach to it's material. Oh well...

By YapEWahu at 1:18 PM ON 04/15/09

Last time I checked Carter was a full bird Colonel as of SGA season 4. C'mon guys the show was on YOUR network, pay attention! I think Lt Ford needs to appear on SGU.

By Rico at 1:20 PM ON 04/15/09

Justo, if you aren't a fan, why comment? I hate TPTB who screw over long-time fans of a show in favor of getting new ones by 'taking a new approach' - which is often worse than the previous approach.

What about Teal'c ??

By hmolsen at 1:35 PM ON 04/15/09

I was never a fan of either of the two Stargate series. For one thing, I don't care much for Richard Dean Anderson. I never liked him in either of his previous TV series either--including McGiver. His character on Stargate was just too stupid to have gained the high rank that his character acheived in the Air Force. SG-1 was better when he left and Ben Browder replaced him. I'll probably check out this new series since I do like Lou Diamond Phillips. I hope he plays one of the lead roles and is not just relegated to a supporting role.

Carlo Rota may have gotten his start on 24 but he is AMAZING as Yassir Hamoudi on the CBC's Little Mosque on the Prairie. It'll be interesting and nice to see him guest star in the Stargate franchise. It's also nice that they're expanding the pool of actors outside their usual Vancouver-fare.

What about Ben Browder! I loved him in SG1.

Have A Very Stargate Day!

:-)))

By miles316 at 4:07 PM ON 04/15/09

Why did they demote Carter she was a Full Bird Col on Atlantis.

By Mikey M at 8:59 PM ON 04/15/09

IF they are trapped on this ship that can't return home, how are all these people going to guest? Via a view screen????

By JLL at 9:59 PM ON 04/15/09

I'm with Lily (and others) above. Where's Teal'c?

By j-dub at 12:02 AM ON 04/16/09

TEEAAAAALLL'CCCC!!!!! :(

Alas, yet again, another Stargate spinoff is not allowed to stand on its own two feet. I thought SGU was going to be different? It's not. They're 'stuntcasting' SG1 characters into the show again (like they did with Stargate Atlantis). And I do believe it's stuntcasting as otherwise why make a press release??

By riker0314 at 8:14 AM ON 04/16/09

just as star trek had the habit of useing stars fromm perius seairs to start a new one, staegate is useing the same thing. i mean o'nelly is the head of stae gate for all intents so he should set the next one off. i do not think that they will be on evey week but there is no reson that a message from home dose not make its way to the new team evey few months or so

By ctmm at 10:36 AM ON 04/16/09

Sounds like the star gate series is going to end up like
the startrek series ,at the end of it every body jumps on it for this or that reason. running it down is just killing the whole thing.

By trickfred at 11:16 AM ON 04/16/09

Stargate: Voyager. Ugh.

By save Sci Fi at 5:00 PM ON 04/16/09

It will be interesting to see how SYFY pulls this off without space travel, indications of the future or interactions with Aliens. The show sounds a lot like an earlier program about a large space ship that was programmed to eventually crash into a distant star and the folks stranded on it could not guide it away for hitting the star and being destroyed. Removing the science too dumb down the show for the new demographic NBCU wants to attract and to rid themselves of the GEEKIE core audience of the channel’s 16 years-old past will be a really interesting transformation for NBCU to do. I will watch this show, but my feeling of betrayal toward NBCU will make it less fun than it might have been and my loyalty to the channel is gone.

Don't overlook Ben Browder

By Shary B at 8:52 PM ON 04/16/09

Hi, I liked SG1, loved Atlantis, and am so disappointed in the way the cancellation of SGA was handled and the possiblity that there will be no SGA movie, that I am not even going to give SGU a chance.
I remain bitter to the core.

By rantoulmom at 2:29 PM ON 04/17/09

My son and I interested in the SGU, but we are both glad to see the SG-1 team being included in the start of SGU. Hopefully they will appear in other episodes other than the early season. Maybe T'ealc can appear later.

I wouldn't get to excited. From other articles regarding SGU. the SG-1 cast is only making cameos. They won't be part of it as much as the comments are saying. I'm sad at that but I am also happy too because the show needs to try on it's own as well as it needs a good send off.

Another thing, RDA, wasn't exactly smart as Jack, when it came to science stuff, but military he knew his stuff. I am glad that RDA, MS, and AT will be making a cameo .

Oh MS will be on Hallmark movie in May (early may) living out loud or something like that.

By Saliza at 11:16 AM ON 05/12/09

OMFG!!! love the fact that sg-1 will gest star on SGU! It makes sence! they are the most experienced ones! and anything anyone can do, well... Carter can do it better!

By MochaShakaKhan at 2:21 PM ON 09/28/09

The reason that Christopher Judge isn't there is because the TPTB are blatantly prejudice. It's another slap in the face to minorities. The thing is they can't use the show to make the same commentary for minorities that they did for Christianity, so they find more subtle ways to do it; like treating him like he's not important enough to make a cameo in this show or treating him like a 2nd class citizen in SG1. The only reason that they include a black people is so they can reiterate that black people are stereotypically athletic unintellectual portion of society. That's why there were never black Atlanteans or Black SGA scientists.
