Whoa... was that a minotaur?

Pretty sure it's a demon and not a minotaur.

If you read the second book of the Charlene Harris series you will know exactly what it is. The show is being extremely faithful to the novels- which is amazing because it is some of the best writing and character development I have seen in quite some time.

So the show is very faithful to the books, huh? Wow. I found it to be quite the mess. The characterizations were mostly inconsistent and there always seemed to be a lot of build-up to no great or interesting resolution (a lot like Next Gen). The reveal of the identity of the serial killer was particularly unsatisfying and seemingly out of left field. The only character I found at all appealing was Tara, and she wasn't even a lead. The vampire action was occasionally thrilling, but Buffy and Angel did it better on even their worst outings. Yet another thing about HBO that I don't miss.
