The Deluxe Edition DVD includes new bonus material, including interviews with the actors and filmmakers discussing how the film came together and what they think of it today; a look at the cast; an exploration of the visual effects created by Industrial Light & Magic and Stan Winston; the story of how the mannerisms of the Thermian race evolved; Weaver rapping and more. The DVD will carry a suggested retail price of $14.99.

Why rehash this movie again on DVD. If it's not a director's cut or your not heading to Blu-Ray what the heck is the point of this movie releasing again?

Ehr... because of Star Trek. It's tied to it, so they thought they'd make a bit of extra cash on it.
True though. BR I would understand... This? Sad. Extremely sas. Pure riding on Star Trek's coattails.

But can we finally hope for a GQ sequel?

I second a suggestion for a sequel.
I've been hoping they would greenlight a sequel. Still wishing.

Actually, I think that this movie deserves this treatment. And who cares if it's raiding on Trek's coat tail? It's a great tribute to Trek and it's countless fans. Now let's get that sequel made.

Yes, Galaxy Quest sequel would be welcome. Why not do it in 3d!

Leave well alone. The film was great as a one-off but the "joke" would be lost with a sequal.

Actually, why not do a sequel? Just as the original Galaxy Quest was a parody of Trek, couldn't Galaxy Quest 2 work as a parody of Trek sequels? I really think it could.
"Fred, you had a part people loved. I mean, my TV Guide interview was six paragraphs about my BOOBS and how they fit into my suit. No one bothered to ask me what I do on the show."

Sequel: Justin Long; teenage SF nerds in space, instead of over-the-hill actors, living out their fantasies in a comic universe.
That's okay...I'll just take a modest percentage of the take...
