Fans mob Welsh filming site of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Fans mob Welsh filming site of \<i\>Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows\<\/i\>

Hundreds of Harry Potter fans mobbed an idyllic corner of West Wales yesterday as filming for the latest film, The Deathly Hallows, continues, Wales Online reported. (Possible spoilers ahead, if you haven't read the book!)

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry, was photographed digging up part of Freshwater West beach in Pembrokeshire as he filmed the burial of Dobby—a house-elf who served the Malfoy family—with his fellow actors Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Grainger, and Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley.

During breaks in filming, Radcliffe, 19, was seen joking and tugging Grint's beard, while Watson, wearing dark sunglasses, signed autographs for fans who had descended on the beach.

Earlier in the week, Helena Bonham Carter was also seen reprising her role as Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is expected to break box-office records when it is released in two parts over the next two years.

Maybe I'm mis-remembering the countless times I've read these books, but...

Doesn't this scene happen at night? The whole point is that the "prior events" happen at night, and he buries Dobby, finishing as the sun rose.

Even if I'm wrong, the night-scene would work better on film either way.

A lot of times night scenes are shot during the day and then altered to appear to be filmed at night. Sometimes because of budget it cost more to pay union workers at night but with a big budget miovie series like Harry Potter that may not be it lots reasons for what appears one way to not be how it shows up in a completed film. I'll be watching though.

mArZiPaN: good point. I guess we'll find out though, eh?

It's not that hard to film night shots in full daylight. It's a matter of the filers they used on the cameras. And a cloudless blue sky allows for CGI effects without a blue/green screen. If you look at the last 3 HP movies you can see where they filmed night shots in full daylight and just used filters to darken the scene. Well you can see it if you know what to look for.

Yes, filming night scenes is easier during daylight.... Filters, and after processing of te data lends a very good and seldom discernable night time effect, and keeps the shooting sched on daylight hours, and everyone happy. (Studios lose a good amount of time shooting real night scenes as the recovery lag, etc, usually wipes out a day, or they block night shooting for the very end, when everyone can shift their routine.) Still, I look forwards to these last installments, and also the next re-incarnation of the books, hopefully shot more true to the story (and not leave Dobbie out of IV, etc...). - Keith

Correct me if i'm wrong, but, I thought Harry buried Dobby by himself, not with Hermoine and Ron as the article implies.
Anyone?

@ theKRELL

Harry digs the hole himself, but when it comes time to bury Dobby, everyone comes out - Luna even makes a little speech - then Harry stays at the grave for a while after everyone else goes back in side.

Scene looks good, but agree that it will be better at night (and filters/CG should be able do that quite well).

Can't wait for the release!

i don't understand harry own burried dobby but hermione and ron with him in movie.i guess crew love much ron and hermione.i don't like they always together like twins.

Harrydigs the grave for dobby like its showed but Dean And Ron jump in and help after checking on hermione who had been tortured by lestrange. So Hermione shouldn't be ther until the "funeral". But Im just lad this much is how it should be. They seem to be sticking to the book
