Battlestar Galactica: Season 4.5, which includes the epic series finale, arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on July 28 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.
The set features more than 13 hours of extras, including three extended episodes of the series finale that never aired on television, never-before-seen deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes and commentary and podcast interviews with executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick.
Also coming is a 20-disc Blu-ray Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series edition and a 25-disc standard DVD set, both of which contain every episode of the thought-provoking series, together with extensive bonus materials delving deep into the richly imagined world of the hit SCI FI Channel original show.

Amazon has the frakkin' blu-ray set for pre-order--only $244.99! (reg. price $349)
Frak that--I'll wait awhile LOL

The only way I would consider buying it is if they included a bonus finale where the ending isn't phoned in and all sucky.
One of the greatest tv series in recent history until the last 5 episodes, though.

I agree, Rick, although I very much liked (didn't love) the finale and "Someone to Watch Over Me". The other 3 were pretty messed up. I wish Ron Moore had allowed the extended version of "Deadlock" and "Blood on the Scales" for more of Baltar's subplots. Really screwed up on the editing this time. Such a damn shame!

According to this article, there are, "...three extended episodes of the series finale that never aired on television, never-before-seen deleted scenes..." So, does that mean the last three episodes have extended versions that we will see or does it mean there are three different extended episode variants of the one we saw on TV? LOL

Noticed that, too, tati. It was probably a typo. The amazing "Disquiet Follows My Soul", the lesser "Islanded in a Stream of Stars", and the pretty damn good finale, "Daybreak" are the extended eps.

it's too bad THE PLAN won't be included as a special disc....

I miss the BSG show very much. I dont even watch the scifi channel anymore. I dont understand why the show had to end in just over 4 yrs. BSG was a show that i looked forward to watch. TV in this day and time just suck's. I wish scifi would air the show again from the start to finish. I would watch it again over and over because BSG was a show that comes along once in a life time. Hey maybe you could bring it back, maybe the Cylons came back and Adama did not send the fleet into the sun. It would be nice to have BSG back again. Thank you for a wonderfull show and a great cast of stars and writers and directors. Thank you, Ernie Miller

Star Trek XI could LEARN from BSG, Trek XI lacks the issues & sfx balance that BSG had in abundance!!!

Hmmm, I'm guessing Razor and The Plan still have to beought seperately.
Still, bought and watched Caprica. The script had a few weaknesses (but now we understand the Cylon's penchant for skimpy cocktail dresses), but I'm looking forward to the series.

Actually, gray, I'm happy it won't include "The Plan" because it gives them an excuse to repackage things and release further extended episodes from Season 4.

I totally agree with you Ermann 1; I can't really believe it's gone. Sci Fi messed up in making the show end early. I was begging the network to at least grant the show 2 more seasons of 13 eps; then would have at least gotten 26 episodes instead of just 20; everything was too rushed; so many characters weren't given their due and there wasn't nearly enough politics.
I totally agree with you, Screenwriter72.
AdmNalsmith, Razor is on the Season 4.0 DVD set.
By LeeAGraff at 1:41 AM ON 05/08/09
Actually, AdmNaismith, the extended cut of Razor is included in the 4.0 Season of BSG that came out a few months back.

@ AdmNaismith
Sy Fy will air "The Plan" in November sometime and the DVD follows very quickly after those broadcasts. So yeah, we'll have to buy it separately.

If they release all the other season this fast (and on Blu-Ray), Their rating would have been much higher. I know/work with a lot of people that had stopped watching the series because they were tired of waiting for 2.0 to be released on DVD so they never started watching 2.5. Then when 2.0 was finally released, they did not have enough time to catch up to 2.5. And other had this same problem with season 3.
