Summit has released the first teaser poster for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the sequel to last year's hit Twilight, which you can view after the jump.
Star Robert Pattinson, meanwhile, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday that there will be a fourth installment in the vampire franchise, Breaking Dawn, based on the last book in the series; both New Moon and Eclipse, the second and third installments, are already in the works.
Pattinson told the trade paper that he is committed to starring in the final outing to date but doesn't know when backers Summit Entertainment will begin production because of the actor's full shooting schedule.

In New Moon, based on the second of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling vampire novels, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Pattinson), but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).
She suddenly finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested.
New Moon is now shooting and opens Nov. 20.

I'm not sure what's worse, the recession or the fact that they are making this movie. I thought movies this bad go direct to DVD.

I see these negative people on all the Blogs...and it's always the same garbage comments.
I am excited about the next movie and so far the pics I have seen look great. My only wish is that they could have made Jacob look taller (he is supposed to be 6'+)...maybe they could do the same as they did for LOTR and just make him look taller!

Rich, the film made $70.6 mil gross in its first weekend. In short, this is a franchise with fans who have money to spend on everything from theater tickets to t-shirts. Besides, the movie was decent enough. Wish the writers had not stuck so closely to the book and beefed up the script more to include scenes with Edward and Alice. Example: Edward explaining his surprising reaction to the smell of a new student; Alice explaining that she's had a vision of Edward with the new student, etc. But hey! Maybe, the script writers will be a bit more creative this time around, since they'll need to incorporate more of Edward in New Moon if they want to keep those Team Edward fans coming back for more.

I admit, I was one of the early naysayers for this franchise, but I admit, I like the movie, even if Im not a fan of the novels. Looking forward to the rest.

I cant wait till "NewMoon" comes out, already read all of the twilight series. I think this movie will be just as good as the movie "Twilight"

i am kinda upset about the news on breaking dawn. i think robert should have kept himself more available for the completion of the saga rather then starring in other movies. i am also a fan of harry potter but i have lost a little interest due to the way it has been stretched over a 10+ year period. i say put everything else on hold and stick to the priority.

wow, i wonder what scenes they're going to do in breaking dawn...=) and i also wonder who's going to play renesmee.

Whoever plays Renesmee probably hasn't even been born yet. At any rate I'm really looking forward to the rest of the Twilight movies because even though I made sure I read the books first, I still enjoyed the first one and the last 3 books are even better. Eclipse in particular was the best...hopefully when they make Breaking Dawn they'll tie up the loose ends that Stephenie Meyer left behind (honestly, it feels like there should be a fourth book, or even a whole nother series dealing with Renesmee and Jacob).
