Fox schedule: Dollhouse lives, Sarah Connor dies, more sci-fi

Fox schedule: \<i\>Dollhouse\<\/i\> lives, \<i\>Sarah Connor\<\/i\> dies, more sci-fi

Fox, the number-one network in adults 18-49 for five years running, officially announced the renewal of the ratings-challenged Dollhouse and is making some big scheduling moves next fall, network executives announced during a conference call with journalists about the new fall 2009 schedule.

Fringe, which is the number-one new drama among those 18-49, also got renewed, as expected. The new genre shows Human Target and Past Life were picked up for midseason and will be placed strategically after American Idol.

Also as expected, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was canceled.

Fringe had earned an early pickup, but a move to Thursdays after Bones is a surprise. "We're going to protect our new hits, Fringe and Lie to Me, by pairing them strategically to insure they continue to grow," said Fox's president of entertainment Kevin Reilly in a conference call with reporters on Monday.

As for Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, which could only manage 2.8 million viewers and a 1.0 adult demo rating, Reilly said, "This is a bet on Joss Whedon. If you looked at the profile of that show, he has an unbelievably loyal fan base. It did consistently in the live ratings and consistently cued up as one of the biggest time-shifted shows on the air. So we're placing our bet on Joss that he'll keep it going next year."

Dollhouse will remain on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET after new comedy Brothers and returning comedy Til Death.

As for the new shows, the DC Comics graphic-novel-inspired Human Target and the reincarnation drama Past Life both will premiere in midseason. Human Target is getting an especially strong push with a big premiere following the NFC divisional playoff game on Jan. 17, 2010, and then moving into the cushy spot after the American Idol results show on Wednesdays. Past Life will get the best spot on the schedule on Tuesday after American Idol.

Fox also added Family Guy spinoff Cleveland to its Sunday animation block. Below are the new schedules for fall and midseason.

By thissux!! at 1:22 PM ON 05/18/09

man, this sux!!! not only do they decide NOT to renew Sarah Connor but they also decided TO bring back Dollhouse. that's like a slap in the face of TSCC fans.

W2G Fox, you will see the error of your ways when Terminator Salvation whets everyone's appetite for more terminator and you are forced to cancel that steaming pile that was Dollhouse because of lack of interest.

By General Zod at 1:26 PM ON 05/18/09

somebody explain why terminator gets cancelled when it got more than dollhouse, and dollhouse gets renewed, thats just mad man

By Darkboar at 1:29 PM ON 05/18/09

Amazing. :(

By Marty B. at 1:30 PM ON 05/18/09

I think putting Fringe with Bones is a good move.

By Sylver at 1:32 PM ON 05/18/09

Sarah Connor Chronicles was indeed the better show and deserved a new season over Dollhouse. Despite being a big Joss fan Dollhouse was at best average and perhaps to extreme a branch out from his previous efforts. The only salute that can be raised to Fox is as least they gave an underdog a second chance which is kinda a brave move in the TV exec world.

By SighFyeGuy at 1:34 PM ON 05/18/09

Yes this is strange. TSCC definitely got more ratings than Dollhouse and it gets cancelled. And I'm a Whedon fan, It's just too bad Fox decides to back Whedon too late to save Firefly...sometimes I'm convinced that Fox is run by some chimps throwing darts at the schedule to decide what to save and what to cancel...what a bunch of idiots!

By Pete at 1:35 PM ON 05/18/09

It's garbage like Fringe that should get cancelled, not Sarah Connor.

Fox is run by imbeciles.

By RangerPrimeX at 1:41 PM ON 05/18/09

Dollhouse got way better as a show towards the end so I for one love that it got renewed.

By Speaker for the Dead at 1:46 PM ON 05/18/09

Fringe is one of the best shows on tv. Sarah Connor stumbled a little during the season, but has great potential. Dollhouse is a flop. I'm glad that Joss is getting another season to fix it, but it should have been canceled to make way for Sarah.

By thebonafortuna at 1:49 PM ON 05/18/09

I stopped watching TSCC after the first few episodes, but sorry for all you who will miss it. I know all too well that is sucks having a show canceled that you care about.

No need to disparage Dollhouse though. I didn't love the pilot either, but it got much, much better as it went on. Just because Dollhouse was picked up doesn't mean you need to rag on it - at least Fox recognized the potential for the show. I'm personally psyched to see where it goes next season!

By tati at 1:55 PM ON 05/18/09

Two live-action comedies are going to precede Dollhouse on Friday nights.

Can you say FAIL?

I'm really disappointed about TSCC, although I am happy that Fringe and Dollhouse are returning. I don't give Dollhouse a snowball's chance in hell at doing well in that time/day slot, though. /sigh

Must be nice to be the all-powerful Oz (aka network suits). They never have to explain.

By Giant at 1:55 PM ON 05/18/09

And the pea-brains at Fox leave Dollhouse at the stupid time of 9pm on Friday.

By ginaloz71 at 1:56 PM ON 05/18/09

I cant even believe it, after the awesome cliffhanging season finale where John Connor ends up in the future and we dont even get to see how it plays out. This is utter crap. I love Joss Whedon but thought Dollhouse was mediocre at best. You would think that with a huge terminator movie coming out they would give the series one more season to lure new terminator fans.
Who are the morons who make these decisions????????

By Mr. Maac at 1:57 PM ON 05/18/09

I originally liked TSCC... But it became ignorable. After missing a few episodes, I realized I just didn't care. It's like SmallVille. But 24 or Fringe (or Lost on ABC), I would schedule heart surgery around... or dvr it at least. Even House has become a show that I don't loose sleep over if I miss. Lie To Me is very very promising. But I see it running out like Prison Break.

By PadrePedro at 1:57 PM ON 05/18/09

It is official- I will never watch another genre show on FOX again. It is not worth investing in. SciFi please pick up TSCC.

By Pickle at 2:01 PM ON 05/18/09

I can't believe that FOX would Cancel T.S.C.C. and keep DollHouse. But, I've come to expect that from the network nowadays. Remember the show, Back To You? Funniest show on T.V. and they cancel it? WOW! Back to T.S.C.C...... the show was just getting good! When the people want more, maybe Sci Fi Channel will get smart, and pick it up.

By Seanbtwo at 2:07 PM ON 05/18/09

I do believe that someone (or more than one someone) needs to go frak themselves over at fox. There is an obvious reason why their network isnt doin all that hot; I think it's time to fire those dipsh*ts in charge!

By Kerrith at 2:08 PM ON 05/18/09

Mania reported that WB isn't even shopping TSCC around to other networks. So, unfortunately, Sci Fi picking it up is doubtful.

By Dion at 2:10 PM ON 05/18/09

So Fox is putting up "Human Target" against "Lost" when they launch it in January... Good luck with that! It would have made more sense to lead into "Dollhouse" or "Fringe", but hey what do I know? I'm just a viewer who will DVR it in order to accommodate work schedules and the other areas of my LIFE.

By auctoris at 2:10 PM ON 05/18/09

I too am extremely frustrated that Dollhouse got picked up over Terminator. It would be awesome if SciFi picked up Terminator.

I've heard the reason Dollhouse got picked over Terminator is that Dollhouse is a 20th Century Fox production. Terminator was a Warner Bros production. The Fox corporation (including the Fox network and 20th Century Fox) will benefit from DVD and merchandise sales on Dollhouse. But, since a non-Fox company produced Terminator, Fox would not get any of the revenue from Terminator DVD and merchandise sales.

By mc at 2:12 PM ON 05/18/09

TSSC was, I'd bet, mind-numbingly expensive to produce with little payoff. Since the pricey set for Dollhouse is already done, its likely a bit more lean and mean. Makes sense to me.

TSCC had badly slipped creatively in my opinion, but still better than Fringe

By Milodog at 2:16 PM ON 05/18/09

Ok so this offically sucks in terms of good shows to watch, for anyone who into the scifi genre then you would know what im talking about.. Farscape, Firefly, SG1 SGA, BSG, Rome and now Sarah Conner. This isnt even madness its SPARTA!! Dollhouse? FTW! it got worse ratings than TSCC and doesnt even have any tie ins with any movies coming out. I might have said too much but this was bad news :(

By Ridd at 2:20 PM ON 05/18/09

Cancelled TSCC? These people are idiots! They should have at least renewed another year to coincide with the hype and interest the new Terminator movie will inspire this summer with people who didn't jump on board for the first season. People left wanting more certainly search out the first season online or at the video store. Then they could've coincided the adverts for the "exciting" second season with the release of the movie on DVD and BD for the fall.
These execs have got to realize that just because it's not a juggernaut out of the box, it doesn't mean it won't grow. There are so many shows with so many different channels, a new show needs time to catch it's stride and complete the first lap. (This is where you step up Scifi -- if you can fund BSG, you can carry a second season of TSCC)

As for protecting it's new shows, maybe they have information that I don't, but if the other networks keep THEIR juggernauts in the same spots next season, then they're pitting Lie to Me against Heroes and Fringe against CSI. They're going to need more than protection, they're going to need the morning after pill!

By nilus at 2:22 PM ON 05/18/09

From what I heard, Doll House was renewed on several conditions, including a big budget cut. Its possible both it and Terminator got the same offer but the Terminator producers just couldn't make the show they wanted for the money Fox offered to give them.

Still Doll House is bad, and this is comming from a die hard brown coat. I liked Terminator, and I am glad Fringe is coming back. Its one of my favorite shows on TV right now.

By EcoCrafty at 2:30 PM ON 05/18/09

After watching 1.5 episodes of Fringe, I had to turn the TV off. Really really really bad acting, and the plot is just too messy and broad. They need to tighten up the acting and plot, and it might be okay.
Dollhouse is worth the extra chance, it is a new show, and Joss can really make it work. But TTSCC was a stinker from the get go. It is a tired franchise that just needs to die. The story is old and tired, the acting on the show was uninspired, and they were trying too hard to hang on to a legacy that was related by name at best. I really can't believe they are making another movie.

By Dion at 2:30 PM ON 05/18/09

From AICN: “Fringe” is being tossed into the toughest timeslot on TV, opposite “The Office,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “CSI.”

Way to go, Fox! It can't possibly perform to whatever expectations you may have, no matter the "Bones" lead-in. "Fringe is the *only* unqualified hit you had this season and you're throwing it away! Frakkin' (no pun intended) boneheads!!

By archer75 at 2:42 PM ON 05/18/09

I do like Terminator and would like to see it continue. But I also really enjoy Dollhouse and am glad it will be back.
They both got the same exact ratings this past season but as they said it's their face in Joss that is getting it renewed. without that they would both be gone.
Terminator is also very expensive to make.

By Kevin at 2:42 PM ON 05/18/09

"Fox is run by imbeciles. " Or maybe it is watched by imbeciles. In a just world, it would be the "reality" shows that failed.

By Kartographer at 2:43 PM ON 05/18/09

So the cancel the best of the three and think they made a great move? IDIOTS! TSCC was well done and had great stories with so good on going dramatic lines. So the back Joss now? Where and the hell was the backing with "Firefly"? Firefly was much better than any of the three (TSCC, Fringe, Doll House) and they let it die. I think what someone posted earlier was right, FOX's programing department is a buch of monkeys with darts and a dart board and they let them 'pick' only after they've smoked something and it ain't bananas!

By archer75 at 2:45 PM ON 05/18/09

"After watching 1.5 episodes of Fringe, I had to turn the TV off. Really really really bad acting, and the plot is just too messy and broad"

Well it's clear you are clueless. Bad acting? They have a great cast that does very well. I could see a best actor award for the actor that plays Dr. Bishop.
The plot isn't messy at all. It all has a purpose. It's all part of the story. If you watched them all you would see this. It's very clear they have a well defined plan for the show since the very first episode.

By SassyPrincess at 2:47 PM ON 05/18/09

I must be the only one on the Board that likes all three of these shows! All of them needed a little time to find their feet (well maybe not Sara Connor as much) but they are all definitely worth keeping. I don't understand why so many people on this thread are slagging each of the other shows. It's not a case of one or the other, there is room for all three. Too bad Fox always gives up on their promising SCiFi shows, and throws crappy comedies on instead.

By guarddog8471 at 3:01 PM ON 05/18/09

Well, don't fret fellow TSCC fans...when Dollhouse tanks this coming season, which you know it will, Fox will then realize the huge error they made...

By kartographer at 3:10 PM ON 05/18/09

Well I might as well rant on! I like to ask who has the worst programing department? FOX or SciFi Channel? It is very close to me. Though Fox has mange to cancel more realy excellent show like, Firefly, John Doe, Brimestone, TSCC and the one be a$$ mistake SciFi did was cancel The Dresden Files, but then SciFi Channel has never lived up to its potential since it inception.

By Beldaran at 3:11 PM ON 05/18/09

I hate FOX. With all the hype around Terminator : Salvation, what idiot at FOX thinks that TSCC will not do well.

By stealthgear at 3:16 PM ON 05/18/09

What the fuck?!! I WANT MY TERMINATOR SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES BACK. Looking at the schedule, I have no reason to watch the Fox network next year. I don't even feel like going to see Salvation now.

By Natech at 3:18 PM ON 05/18/09

Not ragging on Doll House. Good show. DId get better but honestly is no where near SCC. Fringe is awesome is glad it will continue. Other wise I wont even return to Fox website. Sci fi channel should really pick this show up

By tati at 3:22 PM ON 05/18/09

Maybe it's WB we need to complain to--they can shop it around, perhaps? Isn't there still a WB station (or whatever the hell it's called?)? Do they have a cable station (like FX or AMC)?

Fux and SyPhylis deserve each other :(

By gphvid at 3:22 PM ON 05/18/09

It's simple. The season finale of TSCC set up the movies to come. Now there is really no reason to continue Sarah Conner in what is really John Conner vs the Terminators. With John sent to the future, Sarah's part of the story is complete. So the cancellation is really nothing more than a confirmation of that. Move on to the movies for the rest of the story.

By zathras at 3:23 PM ON 05/18/09

It makes me really sad that TSCC hasn't been renewed--it was one of my favorite shows on television, and I'm really going to miss it. While it would be fantastic if another network would pick it up, that seems unlikely.

I'm strongly tempted to boycott FOX completely. Their habit of canceling promising shows has turned me completely. I mean, what's the point in watching anything half-decent that they air, when it's only going to be prematurely canceled?

By babes412 at 3:27 PM ON 05/18/09

This is retarded! Fox ACTUALLY cancelled "TSCC" and replaced it with "The Cleveland Shop".
I think I might vomit!!
PLEASE SCI-FI, save The Sarah Connor Chronicals, its the best sci-fi show i've ever seen afer Odyssey 5. SAVE IT!!!
Its PERFECT for your network!

By Fuckyoufox at 3:28 PM ON 05/18/09

Dear FOX,

You are the biggest corporate morons ever. Outdated ideals, relying on outdated rating systems. You could of made TSCC huge what with Salvation coming out soon - you could of used that as free promotion but because you are idiots you do not. Fuck you, you are cunts FOX. Thanks for taking away the only escapism I had that I needed.

By babes412 at 3:33 PM ON 05/18/09

And also ,FRINGE = SUCKS!
I agree, its TERRIBLE acting and the plots are just ridiculous.
That should have been cancelled, not TSCC.
Fox are complete and utter morons!!
I will never watch a FOX program again, they're just retarded americans who lack the brain capacity to know when a show IS WELL WRITTEN!!!!!!!!!!

By MurDollhouse at 3:34 PM ON 05/18/09

I agree with the merchandising angle. I have to say this though... TSCC just got depressing, it's a hard audience to cultivate. Obviously there are very excited fans, but it just doesn't have the right tone to bring in new ones. Dollhouse I think can be much better - the first episode was garbage, but it got REALLY good midway through. Ultimately, it will probably not be able to make it another season, and the timeslot is only one reason. It's a flawed idea for a network show, but I actually enjoy it more when watching episodes next to each other. And it not "reality" crud either. I think I only watch for the emotional writing Joss brings out of his team - hopefully he can make it better next season.

By FOX HAS NO SENSE at 3:36 PM ON 05/18/09

I REFUSE to watch a Network that makes decisions in such a LAME manner.

Scifi Channel should SO PICK UP TSCC - - and when it surges after relaunch now that the good writing had returned and the good story arc was set in place - - it will confirm that they are not a 4th network at all.

I am done with FOX - even though FRINGE is good - - - it is not that good - TSCC was their flagship show and they abadoned ship.

By Facepalm at 3:41 PM ON 05/18/09

Terminator was very entertaining, even if the second season was not as good and faced paced as the first one. TSCC introduced some cool lore to the Terminator franchise.

Dollhouse was little more than an uninspired blend of "The 6th Day" and "Ghost in the Shell" (especially the second comic) that was even lackluster in its execution.

By Iorek at 3:43 PM ON 05/18/09

It has to do with operating/production costs compared to revenue.

They are better able to sell ads and have reduced operation costs on Dollhouse compared to TSCC. TSCC required alot more CG and effects, and didn't lend itself to generating as much profit as Dollhouse did.

Remember, these companies are in the entertainment business, and they are looking to make money - first and foremost.

By kryptochromulous at 3:43 PM ON 05/18/09

"The season finale of TSCC set up the movies to come. "

The show and movie don't have anything to do with each other...

Anyway, people are funny. I just went through and red the whole thread. A few angry moments, but a bunch of good laughs.

My opinion: I love all three. true Dollhouse is probably the weakest (though I still love it) and I really don't know why that was picked up again, but I'm not complaining. TSCC is probably dead, I wish they could do a wrap up episode. Fringe rocks. $h*t happens. What you gonna do. You guys are taking tv REALLY seriously. but I guess that's your perogative

too bad we all can't just get what we want

By Marty B. at 3:53 PM ON 05/18/09

Maybe Dollhouse will rub it in for the TSCC folks by having an episode imprinting Echo with the belief that she's a cybernetic killing machine from the future....

By blackwolf at 3:54 PM ON 05/18/09

fringe and dollhouse both suck .the sarah connor chronicles rocked i guess that leaves nothing to watch on fox you are guys are morons you just lost a viewer

By potcwe at 4:07 PM ON 05/18/09

What drug was going thru the mind of the person that cancelled TSCC and kept Dollhouse .I see the Head of planing has also said that no matter how well T4 does that its not bringing back TSCC ..just to prove how dum they are

By Gwonom at 4:19 PM ON 05/18/09

I'm getting facepalm after facepalm reading all these posts. All this hope that Sci-Fi picks up TSCC seems beyond wishful thinking. I don't know if NBC Universal would go for a WB produced series.

Also, just to go off on a nitpicking tangent over this quote from the poster Milodog:

"Ok so this offically sucks in terms of good shows to watch, for anyone who into the scifi genre then you would know what im talking about.. Farscape, Firefly, SG1 SGA, BSG, Rome and now Sarah Conner."

What exactly makes Rome sci-fi? Seemed more like historical fiction to me. You don't seem to realize just how expensive that show was to produce. BBC and HBO only had a two year contract together and it just became unfeasible to continue and it pretty much got all the significant developments that led to the Republic becoming an empire and Augustus becoming its ruler.

By Jo at 4:24 PM ON 05/18/09

I agree with SassyPrincess. I liked all of the shows. Dollhouse improved as the season progressed. I wasn't sure about it at first but it really grew on me. Fringe is an entertaining show (especially the character played by John Noble). TSCC is great ... but I feel cheated with the way it ended. I need more!!! Marty B .... I love your suggestion!!

By Loonbeam at 4:24 PM ON 05/18/09

Actually, its really simple. The folks at Dollhouse agreed to reduce costs. A lot.

TSCC didn't.

By The Pioneer at 4:32 PM ON 05/18/09

You have to give Fox some credit. Bones got renewed for two seasons instead of one because of a licensing fight between networks. Fox doesn't want to risk Dollhouse turning into another Firefly where Fox canceled the series and it sold like hotcakes on DVD. In this case, Fox may have bitten off more than they could chew.

TSCC has the opportunity of gaining more viewers on account of the new Terminator movie. When Dollhouse gets canceled halfway through the second season, they're going to realize that they made a mistake.

By vince7 at 4:39 PM ON 05/18/09

Scifi needs to pick up TSSC it's a no brainer.

By gorehound696 at 5:29 PM ON 05/18/09

I am bummed that TSCC is cancelled and on a cliffhanger so I am going to do a boycott of anything FOX for a full season.
So, who is with me here. The more folks who don't buy FOX the more money they lose.I am dead serious here.I am 5 3 and sick of watching shows I enjoy get cancelled on clifhangers.

By Reality at 5:35 PM ON 05/18/09

Sarah Connor got canned simply because the ratings weren't there and it was only kept on for this season because Warner Bros (who produced the show and own the Terminator property) slashed the licensing fee's for the purpose of using the show as promotional material for the new Salvation flick. When you consider the two stories, TSCC and Salvation have very little in common, what is the benefit to WB to continue to devalue the licensing fee's? Salvation is going to be out, and thus TSCC isn't needed anymore. Sarah Connor was right there with Lost in my book of good television, so I hate this.

Dollhouse is still around because Joss showed the network that he could produce an episode of the show for peanuts (the unaired 13th episode DVD extra "Epitaph pt 1.) Plus it has strong DVR numbers. I like the show, but doubt it will pull in any new viewers next season considering the shitty fri. 9pm timeslot.

Fringe has potential to run for 4-5 years, there is a lot of mythology there. Happy it is staying around.

Out of the three, I would personally rather see TSCC but two out of three ain't bad.

By penfolduk01 at 6:03 PM ON 05/18/09

Reality, I think you've hit the nail on the head there.
They've got the new films, and probably the events in TSCC wouldn't mesh well with the movies.

It's possible that, if the movies do well, they might pick up TSCC later down the line. But by then so many of the cast and crew may have moved on that it probably won't be possible.

If I could level any criticism at TSCC is that it felt like it was treading water for a large part of season 2. But finished very strongly.

I quite like Dollhouse, but don't think it was a good as it could be. And in terms of budget cuts, is probably an easier show to accomodate.

Fringe was a grower for me. Wasn't sure of it at all until at least episode 4. But now is a firm favourite of mine.

By Kyle at 6:07 PM ON 05/18/09

SOMEONE SAVE TSCC!!!!

By Damien at 6:26 PM ON 05/18/09

The reason TSCC was cancelled is because it wasn't good business for FOX anymore. If you people bothered to do some research, you will find out tha, mostly, during the weeks TSCC was working as lead-in to Dollhouse, it had an average of 1 million less viewers than the latter. An Kevin Reily has stated that they didn't favor Dollhouse over TSCC, it wasn't a matter of one or the other. Please, do your research and stop saying Dollhouse is to blame.

By Reality at 7:15 PM ON 05/18/09

Exactly, Damien.

TSCC didn't have to die for Dollhouse to see another day. I realize (mostly) everyone is sad to see Sarah go, but it is what it is. I truly despise most of the American public's viewing tastes, and the average viewer wouldn't know a good show if it stepped out of a blue time bubble and tried to kill their mother (sorry for the bad joke). But here's hoping and praying Joss get's Summer to "Doll-it-up", cause I love me some "glau-pertunities" to see that lovely chick with the best "I'm not all there" stare

By wildbuf at 7:23 PM ON 05/18/09

Dollhouse I'll watch for the first 2 or 3 weeks until SGU and Sanctuary start on SciFi then it's DVR time.

Fringe I'll watch because I can always watch CSI in reruns.

By xxgatorxx at 7:38 PM ON 05/18/09

I am really suprised that Fox didn't at least wait until after Terminator Salvation"s opening weeked to make a decision about TSCC. I would think that if the movie does as well as anticipated, it may help drive veiwership to the show. As for Dollhouse, Fox is giving Wheedon a second shot specificly because of Firefly's debacle. I think it is too late to try to make it up to Joss.

Fox is blowing it here.

I swore when USA cancelled the Dead Zone that I would never watch the network again and I have not.

I am now saying the same thing about Fox. The network is now useless to me. Even if they ever choose to air another intelligent show, I can't trust them to support it or even give it a decent conclusion.

Fox is useless to me now.

Please, please, SciFi pick up TSCC.

By clearstar at 5:45 AM ON 05/19/09

well for $25 million or so you to could put a show on t.v. perhaps a tscc fund raiser is in order???

By hrm2701 at 6:05 AM ON 05/19/09

Sarah Connor was the only fox show i watched so i guess i won't have to bother with that network this year.

By Ender Wiggin at 6:37 AM ON 05/19/09

TSCC...
Firefly...
Lone Gunman...
Millennium....
Dark Angel...

It never ends with FOX...

By nate9111 at 7:31 AM ON 05/19/09

In protest i shall never watch this crap again

To me it seems like T:TSCC would have been cancelled regardless of the decision surrounding Dollhouse. Some people are commenting on Dollhouse taking T:TSCC slot. I don't think this is true. The return on investment wasn't satisfactory for the decision makers at Fox; hence, the cancellation of T:TSCC.

By spear401 at 3:54 PM ON 05/19/09

IMO, TSCC was brought on to renew interest in the Terminator franchise. Sure, TSCC and Salvation are two different things; but WB is hoping for a lot of crossover fans. Something which might not happen now, considering how angry the fans are.

SciFi, SyFy, either/or/both: please pick up TSCC. You know the fans are there, you know how much PR this will create for you. You would be doing the right thing!

By guarddog8471 at 9:06 PM ON 05/19/09

It's simple. The season finale of TSCC set up the movies to come. Now there is really no reason to continue Sarah Conner in what is really John Conner vs the Terminators. With John sent to the future, Sarah's part of the story is complete. So the cancellation is really nothing more than a confirmation of that. Move on to the movies for the rest of the story.

The person that said this, let me ask you a question...Have you even seen the movies? Terminator 3 has John Connor at the shelter at the end when Judgment Day happens. How can he be there for JD when he got sent to the future? I think you should follow the story just a little closer.

I've haven't been much of a fan of FOX since they canceled Millennium too early. I like TSCC too but it was losing it focus towards the end of the season. I'm a big fan of Joss. So YAY Dollhouse.

By otherscifiguy at 4:14 PM ON 05/20/09

bring back TSCC maybe scifi can pick it up
like medium going to cbs

By Soitbgns at 1:12 AM ON 05/21/09

I just don't see why Fox would move a great show like T:TSCC to dead night fridays. Then cancel the show because, it has higher ratings then dollhouse and they don't want to hurt Joss Whedon's feelings. That just doesn't make any sense does it. This guy claims he might get millions of emails about cancelling dollhouse, but if you check the net no one actually cares. The net is buzzing about these nincompoops at FOX cancelling Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It's a show like T:TSCC that helps FOX keep up with the other networks.

By bigjbe at 5:31 PM ON 05/23/09

leave sarah alone and drop the lie..............

By chronocaptive at 10:13 PM ON 05/28/09

Since Fox has decided to be retarded and fails to make long term investments that will most certainly pay off, my entire 3000 member forum has signed a petition not to watch any new shows Fox brings to the table until they've been on for at least three seasons. We won't boycott Fox because there are still shows we want to support, but we'll be damned if we're going to be disappointed like this again.

A 3000 viewer loss may not seem like alot in the short run, but we're a television discussion forum, and that means 3000 people are now focusing on discussing new shows from other networks with all their friends, relatives, and those they meet.

I really hope they feel this, and if you feel the same way, we'd be happy to have you join us.

Sci-fi, or should I say syfi, please please pick up TSCC!

By carolinacadman at 7:59 AM ON 07/27/09

THIS SUCKS BIG TIME. TSCC was the best of the 3. There should be at least one more season with a finale. How about some respect for the viewers!
