Heroes, Day One picked up for NBC's fall schedule

\<I\>Heroes\<\/I\>, \<I\>Day One\<\/I\> picked up for NBC\'s fall schedule

NBC announced it will pick up the superhero action/drama Heroes and the new apocalyptic drama Day One for the fall 2009-10 television season. Several other series remained in limbo, including Chuck and Medium, with the decision on those postponed until May 19.

Heroes had previously been tapped for the fall, although NBC entertainment president Angela Bromstad stated last month that the network planned a slightly shorter episode order of 18 to 20 episodes for the sci-fi action/drama. Other non-sci-fi returning series include Southland, Parks and Recreation and Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday.

On the new series front, Day One is planned as a limited "event series." The new series from Jesse Alexander and Alex Graves involves what happens to a band of survivors after a global catastrophe devastates the world's infrastructures. The series stars Adam Campbell, Catherine Dent, Julie Gonzalo, David Lyons, Derek Mio, Carly Pope, Thekla Reuten and Addison Timlin. Day One will be held until midseason to be launched out of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games at the end of February, NBC announced.

Other non-sci-fi new series pickups include Trauma, Parenthood, Mercy, Community, 100 Questions and the previously announced The Jay Leno Show.

Over the weekend, reports by insiders stated that Medium had already been picked up. NBC said the psychic family drama may still be picked up for a sixth season, but no decisions have been made yet regarding its future.

It is a no-brainer to pick up Medium which is one of the best shows on television. Just do not understand why each year this show is delayed on pick up and why show starts usually mid-season

"Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday"

Seriously? Thursday is part of the weekend now? Another brilliant move from the people that might cancel Chuck. You'd think the sharp minds at SyFy came up with that one.

Bring back Jericho!

Do they do a public census on what people want to watch? If so, are people that daft that they chose these new projects? 'Cuz I'll betcha anything a census would show that the people want Chuck and not a remake of Parenthood. Seriously, I'll be anything. Show me the results. I'm wrong, it's yours.

Canceling Chuck would be in whole other league than SCI-FI stupid. Canceling Chuck would be FOX level stupid and it don't get much dumber than that.

They will need more shows than they have slots since reruns don't work anymore so there is room to pickup Chuck,Medium and L&O. If they only keep one it had better be Chuck.

I can't believe they'd pick up Heroes and not Chuck. I'm pretty much Done with Heroes but Chuck has WAY MORE going for it.

CHUCK has consistantly given us some of the best entertainment on television for the past two seasons. The writing is brilliant, the production values have been superior, and the cast seems to have great chemistry. If this show is cancelled it would be a terrible tragedy.
