A new trailer has gone live on IGN for Gamer, the upcoming sci-fi action movie starring Gerard Butler, which you can view after the jump.

In the film, Butler plays a death-row inmate named Kable, who is drafted into a deadly online video game in which he acts as a human avatar for a remote game, fighting against other convicts.

The movie also stars Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Dexter's Michael C. Hall and The Closer's Kyra Sedgwick. Gamer opens Sept. 4.
