Report: Thor's Loki has been cast

Report: \<i\>Thor\<\/i\>\'s Loki has been cast

Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood, which broke the news that Chris Hemsworth had nabbed the title role in Kenneth Branagh's Thor, reports today that British actor Tom Hiddleston will play Thor's nemesis, Loki.

Hiddleston, unknown to American audiences, is an award-winning Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts graduate and played Winston Churchill's son in HBO's The Gathering Storm. He also starred in Ivanov opposite Branagh on the London stage and in the BBC miniseries Wallander.

Marvel Studios won't confirm the news, but Hiddleston had been considered as a possible Thor. Thor is slated for release on May 20, 2011.

One bad thing about the net. . . you hear about these movies 100 years before they come out!

If we do something which is pioneering, we will get arrows in the back. But at the end of the day, whether we succeed or not, the journey will be worthwhile.

Joe - Lay off the Lucky Charms mate!

I have no dime store philosophical quote, but I must admit this is shaping up to be a very cool movie. I am becoming very optimistic about this film.
