A week after Universal announced a similar project, Variety reports that director Abel Ferrara is developing a re-imagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," titled Jekyll and Hyde, with Forest Whitaker and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson attached to star.
The actors will play the doctor and his violent alter ego.
Glasshouse Pictures' Brett Walsh and Cheetah Vision Films' Randall Emmett are producing; Luc Roeg, Michael Robinson and Andrew Orr are executive-producing for U.K. production banner Independent.

Now you're talking. An actor with talent will always get my buck. Keanu can't play 1 role, so why would be be able to do two?

Should've saved money and cast Eddie Murphy for both roles, he's used to the challenge.

As much of a joke as the title is, Blackula's actually a pretty good vampire movie.

JEI and BOND55 lighten up and get over it. Its funny as hell. Forest Whitaker and then 50 cent is a hilarious concept. Personally Id rather see Forest Whitaker turn into George Lopez.
There were a lot of blacksploitation movies made in the past. Even the Simpsons have made jokes like that saying Blackula, Blackenstein, the Blunch Black of Blotre Blame ha ha. I got no problems with it, but im going to joke about it as much as I want. Im still a fan of Tales From the Hood though.

Blackenstein was disappointing in every way possible.
And Tales From the Hood was awesome.
