you all know what i'm going to say. but you are still going to see it anyway. or well if $10.00 is what it take to make a person wiser it's a cheap price. just remember the needs of the many.. or never mind that will most likliy rebooted too. may 8 is the day star trek died.

Oh, get a life, Wildstar. It's a freakin' movie for crying out loud. Suspend belief and enjoy!
By Borg03of77 at 10:59 PM ON 05/06/09
Captain whatever, I for one am going to go see it for the following reasons:
1. Its a movie!
2. Its entertainment
3. Its a movie about Star Trek
4. Its a J.J. Abrams movie
5. and most importantly, its a MOVIE
I don't know if I yet care for the direction they are going, but if it breathes new life back into the alread dead franchise, than so be it! I'm taking my son to see it as my dad to me to see some of the others. I hope that Star Trek sticks around long enough for me to enjoy it with my son as much as I did with my dad.

Pay no mention to Capt Zacary R Wildstar... He's just a troll.

uhm . . Wildstar . . . I hate to break it to you, but Trek has been dead for quite some time now. This is someone putting the paddles back on and trying to shock it back to life. "Clear"
P.S. See it in IMAX

WIldstar. I'm going to give you a break because everyone on here is ganging up on you. All I have to say is ALTERNATE TIMELINE. So suspend some of your disbelief and enjoy. Relax.

J-DUB, do you play xbox live with that gamertag?

If some folks don't want to see the movie that's fine, but why do people (and I use the term loosely) such as Captain Wildstar have to spoil the fun of those of us who do want to see it? It just seems so childish.

The real funny thing is, they acutally think we will listen to them and have some sort of apiphany that makes us realize for some reason beyond beliefe they are right.

Looking at the interview, and hearing from the actors and Abrams, I think this film is in good hands. As someone who has grown up with Star Trek, and all its incarnations I am willing to have an open mind, and will be seeing this epic space opera on the weekend.
Now for this next part I'll apologize ahead of time... I've said this before and I'll continue to say it, don't judge something until you've tried it, read it, heard it, touched it or seen it. For those who refuse to see this film and continue to bash it before it has come out, I have one simple solution... Don't leave the confines of your Shatter shrine, clutch your copies of the original series, along with your Star Trek V poster, stay home and don't SEE the film. Leave us, the devoted fans in peace and quiet. For those who have continually bashed and braided this film on this site for months on end, I detect nothing but jealously. Jealously for the fact that someone has gotten a chance to work on something you never will be a part of directly except at conventions and DVD releases. You have ten films to look back on. TEN let me count... yes, TEN films and hundreds upon hundreds of hours of TV content. No franchise has gotten the attention that this one has, nothing comes close, not Star Wars, not Harry Potter, not Aliens, Terminator, Die Hard, or X-Files. Dr. Who may be an exception, but that series has been re-booted, and the fans embraced that, because they were happy to have a series back on the air. No, only the James Bond franchise can come close, but wait...that franchise was re-booted as well, and nobody screamed bloody murder, Bond fans were happy that another Bond film came out.
Look, go see the film, or don't see it, I'm tired of all the hate that is generated by this film. IT HASN’T COME OUT YET.
So Say We All.

Saw the movie last night. I remember the first series as I was old enough to see it on NBC in September 1966. The movie is great and I do understand the timeline being changed, Congrats to Abrams and Crew for a great job.
