TNT has ordered a pilot for an untitled alien-invasion TV series from DreamWorks TV and executive producers Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Robert Rodat, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series would be set six months after a worldwide alien invasion. Saving Private Ryan writer Rodat is penning the pilot based on an idea he conceived with Spielberg.
Spielberg has dealt with alien material on TV before, notably with SCI FI Channel's Emmy-winning 2002 miniseries Taken.
ABC has ordered its own alien-invasion series, a remake of the classic sci-fi miniseries V.

I hope it's as good as the series "Taken" (even though Spielberg only presented it).

its going to be more drama then action maybe, because its on TNT and not HBO. I remember Band of Brothers that was awsome if only more scifi shows of epic scale were on HBO so it would have more freedom.
It be less episodes but at least that would give them more time to come up with a good story that they wont stretch out too thin. I wonder how many good scifi shows couldve survived if it had been on a cable channel and not fox or scifi or nbc

Yes, everybody gets an "alien" tv series...why not? It seems to be the "hot" thing to do right now. Cant people figure out what to do with out looking at what other networks have and say, you know what we should do that to!

They should make a sequel to the Taken miniseries - I've always wondered what happened next....or better yet, they should make a miniseries about the Horus Heresy..

A new Farscape, or B5 would be even better.
